First rating on Amazon but figured I would submit one for this as after reading other reviews. I was a bit worried as I would have to pay the Locksmith tech one way or the other. He arrived today and the key programmed without issues for my 2011 Ford Edge Sport. I used this key today to run errands with my family and have had no issues with it so far. The important thing to know is if you don't have 2 working Keys you will not be able to use the self program method and will require a locksmith or stealership to program it. As always ensure you do your due diligence before investing money into things to ensure they will meet your expectations.

1. Place the new unprogrammedintelligent access key in the backupslot inside the center console. Thekey ring must be at the rear with thebuttons facing toward the passenger (right)side.2. Press the driver or passengerpower door unlock control threetimes.3. Press and release the brake pedal one time.4. Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times.5. Press and release the brake pedal one time. The indicator on theSTART/STOP button should begin to rapidly flash, indicating theprogramming mode has been entered and two programmed intelligentaccess keys have been detected in your vehicle.6. Press the START/STOP button within one minute. A message willappear in the information display indicating that the new intelligentaccess key was programmed.7. Remove the intelligent access key from the center console pocket andpress the unlock button on the newly programmed intelligent access keyto exit programming mode.8. Verify that the remote entry functions operate (press lock thenunlock, making sure you end in unlock) and that your vehicle starts withnew intelligent access key.

It read key was already programmed to another vehicle. Someone mentioned that buying this remote is like a gambling. Yes it is. My can’t be programmed. Thankfully locksmith didn’t charge me anything. But here is a solution for you. I went onto RockAuto web site, find my car, under electrical choose remote and order from them. In 2 days I received remote with programmer. Follow instructions and - tadaaaa. Now I have 2 remote controllers. It’s more expensive - $ 100 more - but you have something that really works. And you don’t need 2 remote’s to program new one. You just need one original.

Make sure you have 2 working Fobs, or you cannot program the new one. Make sure you have not already programmed four keys, that is the max you can program. If all that is good- google a video and program as described.
