A great lens!
A great lens! I bought this lens for my Sony A6400 to take pictures of sports events where it's difficult to get close to an intended subject and this lens brought me close to the action! The lens is also great for taking landscape photos or close up pictures of batters hitting a baseball. Super clear pictures, fast auto focus and amazingly light to carry for a large lens.

Just buy it!
I vacillated quite a bit about dropping 1K for this lens, but it's well worth it. I took some test shots with it upon its arrival today, paired with my Sony a6600. This lens is sharp, and renders beautiful images.

An ideal lens for the traveler
This is a wonderful lens that I purchased from Amazon Warehouse for my sony a6600 and a6000. I have no idea why folks would give this lens anything but a five star rating. See for yourself-check out the many pro reviews of this lens on You Tube-no pro reviewer has given this lens anything but a steller rating! I travel internationally and use zooms all the time since great shots of people, animals, or scenery cannot be reached quickly by walking and if you want to capture the moment a zoom lens allows you many different photos that a prime lens can't get. When I go to soccer games, or any sporting activity, am in nature shooting photos of animals, or in the city shooting close ups of various scenes, a 350mm reach allows for wonderful intimate and clear images. So why is this lens so good? l. It's relatively small size is crucial for travelers, including fairly light weight and a compact size that can fit in a small half-day pack. 2. The fact that it is a Sony lens makes it easy to sync with the A6600's image stabilization and auto focusing sensors. 3. The images produced are of high quality. 4. The lens has a significant reach-over 500mm converted to full frame. Cons-lack of a certain setting results in any object close by, such as a chain link fence (if you are at a zoo and trying to shoot through a fence creating focusing problems with your subject in the distance; 2. The lens is not good in low light settings so is essentially a day lens only. With this lens I feel very complete in terms of what I'll be bringing with my A6600 camera body: Sigma 30mm, Sony 18-135, Sony 70-350, and one wide angle (small lens). This is a very complete kit for shooting wonderful photos and videos.

An excellent lens with beautiful IQ and fast autofocus
I have enjoyed using this lens very much. The zoom ring works beautifully smoothly, the autofocus works accurately and quickly, and the image quality is phenomenal. I am using it with my a6400, so given the crop sensor this works at the full-frame equivalent of 105-525mm focal length, which is some pretty solid reach. It is a pricey lens, but not as much as some of the G-Master lenses. The focus hold button is useful, especially given its customizable for different functions. The switches for AF/MF and OSS On/Off are strong and snap into place well.

Can the Sony 70-350 compete with Sony 100-400 at 40% the cost?
It’s hard to fault the excellent Sony 100-400 but as a longtime pro I’m at times reluctant to take a 3 lb. lens on the road or hike long back country treks with it. I’ve been seeking a lighter long tele zoom option and heard good things about this Sony 70-350. I fully intended to be happy with the compromise of having to use it in APS-C mode, yielding files of 26.2MP on my A7R4 that normally outputs 61MP. The copy I received wasn’t as sharp as I’d hoped. I’d heard good things about the 70-350’s quick linear motor, the same one used in Sony’s fastest telephotos, that I probably expected too much and was a bit underwhelmed upon first testing it.I have a second on order and will update the review if the replacement is as crisp as some have found. Of course, it is truly hard to compete with the rockin’ yet $2,500 Sony 100-400. Most APS-C shooters will be happy with this Sony at 40% the cost of the far heavier 100-400. In the meantime, I may have found a surprise winner, the Tamron 70-300 f4.5-6.3. At first I did not consider it because conventional wisdom tells us not to NEVER consider any long glass without Image Stabilization (IS). It’s easy for a pro to at first dismiss the under $500 Tamron but it is indeed truly sharp unless you pixel peep the corners. For long glass, corner sharpness is of less concern for many of us although that would be a deal killer in a wide-angle lens. Why own both the 100-400 and this Sony, or the Tamron? Simply said: Weight. The Sony 100-400 is a well-balanced and manageable three pounds. The Tamron weighs mere 19 ounces and 20% the cost! This The Sony 70-350 is 22 ounces and with the higher weight comes has longer reach although it is slightly shorter than the Tamron. In APS-C mode this Sony gives me truly impressive 105-525mm reach. At the long end, the Sony 100-400 allows max f5.6 while this lens shoots 1/3 stop slower at 6.3. It delivers reliable images with the advantages that come with image stabilization, too, However, my keeper rate with this lens incorporating Sony OSS was not a great deal higher than the Tamron without it. Here’s a link to my review of the not quite as well-built Tamron, too:https://www.amazon.com/review/R2SD7APT0NVX1G/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B08K3MXZCZHope this too long review has been of some small help. Keep shootin’ strong!

A Superb Quality Lens
I bought the new A6700 Sony camera and bought this lens to go with it. All the praise that this lens gets are more than justified. It is extraordinary. Clean and clear with a beautiful bokeh. I photograph deer that come to visit me with this lens and the photos I get are stunning. Super clarity. Fast auto focus. Nice size and balance for this type of lens. Nice smooth manual zoom as well. Love it!
