Very happy overall with this purchase
Unit seemed well made and designed. Worked exactly as expected. Allowed switching from generator to battery/inverter in a seamless manner.Allows both to be plugged in simultaneously, and switching to be made from an inside power transfer switch. It provides a 20 second delay when generator is powered up to allow sufficient time for full power to be achieved before switching is initiated. One reviewer commented on the #10 wires used inside the panel. I believe they're powered momentarily when switching from one source to the other, and don't normally carry power while in operation. Box could be a couple inches larger to allow more space for connecting #6 wiring. Very happy overall with this purchase.

Perfect product, better support
This ATS is used in our 5th wheel to switch between the 50A 4-wire shore power and a 30A 3-wire inverter. We disabled the generator start delay as our inverter is always on and ready. The open transfer is so fast that the microwave clock does not reset. This was a big deal for my wife who had grown quite tired of resetting the time.My only negative is the literature on the switch. After the initial installation, the ATS was disconnecting from shore power 10 seconds after the charger ramped up to 75A @12Vdc. This was well under the 50A rating of the ATS. It turns out that when used with an inverter, shore power should be terminated at the generator input and the inverter should be connected to the shore power input. This may be documented somewhere but I didn’t find it. I learned this trick from the fantastic support team at the manufacturer.Another useful fact is that the primary source is the generator input. This means if both sources are present, the switch will choose the generator to pass to the output. This ATS was exactly what we needed to control which source powers the load center in our RV. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Well-made & quiet transfer switch. Easy replacement for IOTA ITS-50R on old Holiday Ramblers/Monacos.
Great transfer switch. Almost exactly the same size (just a smidgen larger) than the IOTA ITS-50R which was in our 2008 Holiday Rambler RV.So, it was a super easy drop-in replacement. Our original IOTA was plastic and melted with heat, plus it tended to hum. In comparison this is a sturdy, metal box that looks and feels much, much higher quality. Holes on all sides to allow versatility in where you run your house, generator and shore cables. Super easy installation and no humming when it's in operation (it's very quiet indeed). We are very happy with this and look forward to many years of good use.

Worked 1 time
Install was straight forward. It was the same size as the one I was replacing.Worked great ONE TIME. Next time the generator was used (the next day) it wouldn't transfer power.did all the troubleshooting steps... power at the generator terminals, had the 110 jumper in, I could manually hold the switch in and it would transfer power. No green LED on the board. Now I'm 4 days past the return date.I will buy something, NOT from Amazon.

The switch itself looks fine but the packaging left a lot to be desired!
This transfer switch comes with a high degree of reputation as to it's quality. BUT, I can only hope it works ok because once I opened the box, it appears to have been package by apes. There was a very large piece of styrofoam that was in a lot of pieces. A tiny piece of bubble wrap was in a ball in one corner of the box. For what is supposed to be a quality piece of electrical gear, this was very poorly packaged and I hope that it will be ok. I opened it up to check the internals and it looks to be ok but only time will tell. I just wanted to go on record here as to what I found on it's arrival. I have not had time to install it yet. Please, keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks.

In the nick of time
My equipment died and this was just what I needed. It was delivered the next day and I was able to swap out the old with the new in just a short time. Tested and happy again. What a happy day in RVing...

Quiet - no noise, great replacement for a good night sleep
Our factory model was installed under the bed and would him through the night. Replaced it with this model and no noise other than the initial click when it powers on. There is a time delay for the generator with a switch to disable if you need but easy install if you have had some experience with wires.

Excellent, durable design that performs its task well
I replaced a integrated Surge protector/power management system and Transfer switch on my RV with this transfer switch and a separate power management and surge protection system. This transfer switch provides power directly to the power management system without activating a relay which allows power to flow to my RV from the shore cord automatically as soon as it is plugged in. When the generator is in use, the transfer switch relay is brought into play transferring power as expected. This design is exactly the opposite of the factory supplied integrated unit which failed after being plugged in so often and each time that occurred activating a transfer relay to activate. Since the RV is plugged in far more often that being used with the generator, this transfer switch design is likely to be far more durable.
