A great, budget blend for all coffee lovers.
The Explorer blend of coffee beans from Roast Shop Coffee is a medium roast, seasonally sourced blend. It has a robust and smooth flavour at a very attractive price. The explorer brand allows users try what is 'in season'. The coffee is slightly bitter, but very refreshing. The way Roast Shop Coffee bag their product gives it an extended freshness time of around 2 months (once opened) and up to a full year of shelf life. This helps all users, especially those of us who are, shall we say, restricted when it comes to finances. As someone who goes through a lot of coffee (over a kilo a month is not unheard of) I have added these beans to my lost of flavours I will buy more stock of. This is a staple for me.

Nice, smooth, good crème. Slightly bitter.
Nice, rich, good crème but just a little too bitter. I like a black coffee single shot on my beloved Sage Barista. Using grind 11-12 gives a good pressure and leaves a nice dry puck. I have just found on Amazon one I really like as in on par with my local roast house but half the price. This one is still very good so try it. My other half has flat white and loves this one. She would give 5 out of 5😊💕

Not what it used to be. Update.
This used to be my go to for a while. Good flavoursome and fresh beans. Got a bad bag, but thought I'd give it another go. It really isn't the same quality any more. Disappointing. Won't be buying it again.Since reviewing this review seller has provided great customer service on dealing with the issue. While I won't buy this product again I have since tried another of their coffees which are excellent. I thoroughly recommend the Rawandan beans for their great flavour. Roast shop obviously care about customers and are worth supporting for this and their good coffee!

Not sure what happened with roast batch
I feel bad writing this as I have loved Roast batch coffee for years, by my most recent explorer blend is completely undrinkable. Usually a mix of nice roasts, recently the roasts have been extremely dark and this was no different. Every coffee made from it had that horrible, over-roasted taste that has rendered it undrinkable. I appreciate it's a blend but visually you can see some are essentially burned while others have almost no roast at all, meaning they are drowned out by the extremely dark beans.Still have the 1kg back from October and not sure what to do with it. I've started buying from different roasteries instead and probably won't use Roast batch in future sadly.

Superb Flavour - Price is Remarkable
I have a bean to cup machine that is I'd say one of the better mid range jobs and genuinely makes a fantastic cup of coffee. But, it's only as good as the beans used and poor quality ones seem to be highlighted even more than with my previous less good machine. But, lets be honest here, beans in the supermarket are damned expensive for not much, and bean to cup machines go through a remarkable amount of beans very quickly I've found. As such I look around and try something new - and cheaper of course...So here we have a bloody great big bag of pure Arabica coffee beans that simply knock flavour out of the park. Really. The roast is perfect at a good mid range strength leaving the body and flavour but ensuring there isn't any harshness that can sometimes creep in with really strong roasts.if I was to compare I'd say these were better by far than beans bought in 250g bags from the supermarket with big name branding on the packages. And given the price you are more than 50% better off having bought these.Honestly, it's a no brainer. These are simply excellent daily coffee beans at a price that defies their quality.

Best Fresh Roast Coffee At Affordable Price, Highly Recommended
The media could not be loaded. I have been brewing and drinking fresh roasted coffee beans for the past few years, this video shows only 1 of the 4 regular brewing methods I use. I tried making home roast without sophisticated equipment, just roasting on a pan, and although uneven roasting, the coffee was night and day difference compared to store bought stale coffee beans. I was unable to afford more efficient methods of home roasting, and sometimes I did not find the time and energy to fresh roast coffee beans, so when I did run out, I reluctantly bought store coffee which was a huge mistake. Luckily, I decided to give this coffee from this seller a go, and now this is going to be my 4th pack I am buying, and I am so relived to have finally found a solution for my coffee fix. As long as this type of fresh roast coffee is being sold, consider me a lifelong customer. Nothing but high praises, all the coffee I have tired are excellent, and the price is so affordable. Highly recommended!

Roasting issues?
After the many good reviews that I read I was quite surprised that upon on a medium grind and then pouring it through my Hario V60, that it came out very weak, very light in colour and lacking in flavour, even when using quite high strength brew of 12g to 200ml . The bag I received has a best before date sticker and a batch number. I returned it immediately. The batch number is 350 and is followed by 03/01/2020 which is evidently the roasting date. I ordered it on 15/1/20 and it arrived 16/1/20. The QR code doesn't work. This roaster seems to do well with the rest of its coffee. I'm assuming this was bad batch, given the other positive reviews. . The other bag I ordered was the Colombia Medellin single origin and it was roasted on 16/12/19 so dispatched one month after roasting date. I think this is the risk with Amazon Prime Fulfillment Process as the bag sits in the delivery warehouse until it is ready to go. I am happy with this batch and I'll persevere trying some of the other single origin coffees they have. The price point is excellent, especially considering the margin Amazon takes.
