Q: Will the base stick to a magnet? Is is made of steel?

I don’t think so. The part you screw to the wall (tree) is made of strong plastic. The white parts are metal and may be magnetic but not enough to stick to a magnet. Also the circular cover needs to be screwed tight to the plastic base to ensure the camera doesn’t move. It’s a really great system if the base is screwed tightly to the wall. It also stops the camera being easily stolen. Magnetic mounts seem to easy to disconnect.

Q: What drill bit should you use with these green wall plugs?

I used my own plugs and screws with 5mm masonary drill

Q: Are these compatible with Moocam

Hi, this camera wall mount works for all cameras with 1/4 thread, if your moocam has a 1/4 tread, than it's ok.

Q: What stops the ball from moving with the added weight of the cctv unit attached?

Its simply the friction of internal rod pressing against the ball socket as the base is tightened. Its quit effective and robust.
