I love this new Japanese Damascus knives set. It fits my kitchen very well. The wood handle is comfortable and has a gorgeous natural pattern. The knives are very sharp. They can be used on any cut. The handmade shelf looks better than I thought. It fits the knives with the wood plug. The knives could smoothly slide into the shelf and stay sturdy under the help of the plugs. Very thoughtful design.Block: A+ Knives: A+ packaging: BI think these are every bit as good or better than higher priced brands I've shopped. The whole set is like an aircraft. I expect these will last me for many years.

I have used them. The metal at the base of one of the knives (at the top of the tang) snapped during its second use with minimal pressure less than a month after purchase. These knives were only ever hand washed, immediately dried, and properly stored after every use. The handles have been regularly conditioned and used with a great amount of care.The minimal amount of pressure that snapped the metal suggests that the quality of these knives is extremely exaggerated, the maker does not have quality control, or poor product design.Knives at this price point should not snap cutting a ripe tomato.

Bought mine a couple years ago now. They still cut okay, but the handles look dry and faded. The block shows it's age as well. Overall I would not purchase this set again, it is over priced. I would recommend just buying one or two solid knives and save yourself 600 bucks.

The handle was very comfortable to hold and the blade is extremely sharp,very impressed with workmanship and quality.Overall this is very good better than the other knifes I have seen out there on the market. I have been very happy with its performance.. First time I made a purchase . customer service is top notch. Super fast delivery and great product. Thanks so much. This is a gorgeous knife block, and works very well for holding various types of knives. Unfortunately, the packaging combined with mishandling (I'd guess) during shipping caused two of the wooden separators on top to be snapped off. Easy enough fix but the packaging should be designed such that what you bought arrives intact. Plastic spacers, dense foam or something.

Have used these wonderful knives for a couple of months and the are very satisfying to use. The handles are comfortable, easy to grip and allow you to prep many, many dishes without hand fatigue. (Think large meal prep like Thanksgiving or Christmas.) These knives make quick work of simple daily tasks too. They are EXTREMELY sharp and that takes a little getting used to. Storage block is easy to use. No disappointments with this knife set.
