I purchased this for my Chicks to introduce to my flock
So I purchased this for my Chicks to introduce them to my flock. I wouldn’t keep Birds in this full time as it is very small and very narrow, i’ll do the negatives firstAs I said previous, it’s very narrow and very small, and I wouldn’t really put large hens in this coop, maybe for two bantams or quails so on the roof of the coop, there’s nothing to hold the roof on and if there was a wind, the roof would blow off, but we sorted that out very easily and we drilled pilot holes and screws Into all the roof panels and the same for the nesting box, the floor, a large animal or Rat could push the head through where the nesting box is because it’s not attached that wasn’t a problem. We did the same thing with the roof, so that was fine now the positives and there’s a lot of them. The instructions were really good. I was really impressed It’s all pictures and all the numbers are correct all the stickers. The flat pack was brilliant. It was daunting when I first opened the box but we were really shocked how easy to assemble. Yes the wood is a bit flimsy but I’m only gonna use it for a short time and then it’ll go in my garage over the winter so it’s not the end of the world I would definitely recommend this coop the instructions are really good. There was an extra screw for each part.

Not for long-term poultry housing without adaptations
For context this house is being used for off heat bantam chicks in an established walk in run to keep them apart from our older hens. It was specifically bought so we could adapt it to 2 separate sides for different aged chicks. It was well packed, arrived undamaged and was easy to put together, all parts are numbered, there are predrilled holes and plenty of screws are provided in numbered bags. It was also easy to adapt. There are no doors on the sleeping compartment so we also had to make doors, which we did by making runners and sliding doors. It is okay for our purpose but I would not recommend it for long term use. It is very flimsy, even in the walk in run we have had to secure it so it can't be blown over by the wind. There are several access point for predators, if it were to be used as a freestanding house without additional security - the run roof is not secured and the nesting box roof also does not have a lock - or they could simply push it over. The bolts on the doors are not big enough. There are also many overlapping pieces of wood inside which would be mite heaven. The runs are not, in my opinion, big enough for large hens, maybe okay for a couple of full size bantams. The sleeping compartment and nesting box are a good size though with a slide out dropping tray. I would not recommend it as a long term use poultry house but for what we need it will be useful

Lightweight and not exactly large, but functional
Assembling this flat-pack chicken coop took a couple of hours, but apart from assembling the roof (you'll benefit from a second pair of hands to hold the parts at the right angles) it's not challenging. It's pretty lightweight wood so a large and determined adult predator could probably break in, but place it strategically (mine is near the house) and it should be fine. It's not large so two hens maximum, and the 'run' is definitely minimal, but if they have the freedom to run around during the day that's not too bad. Here, I put some plywood over the run's roof so 'The Colonel' (the rooster's name) has some rain protection.Summary: not large, could be stronger, but good enough and impressive for the price.

Wouldn't recommend
Firstly my item arrived late, after buying this item on Monday at midday and it stating I will receive it buy Tuesday this wasn't the case. The item was dispatched on Tuesday despite having more than enough to to dispatch it on the Monday so because of this is was late. It states in the product that it will house 2 small to medium chickens but it's more suitable for other smaller animals not chickens. If I am honest I should have read the reviews before buying as I wouldn't have bought it as it isn't suitable as described. I am now going to have to either buy another coop from elsewhere or build my own. The entire coop and run are lightweight and there are no way of securing either of the roofs unless you screw them down which isn't ideal. My item arrived with parts missing and lastly the wire mesh that it comes with is totally inadequate. It's flimsy and wouldn't put up much defence should something want to get in. Once built it does look OK but it's far from suitable for what I need it for. Really disappointed from start to finish with the company and the item.

Nice little pen.
Good value for money. A little bit flimsy but you just have to be careful when you move it. Perfect to keep about four chickens in just to sleep as long as they can free range all day. If using for chickens I'd put a solid floor in it to stop foxes digging under. Also some sort of clips on the roof as it's easy to get off. I've put a piece of rope right under the pen and tied it over the top. Stops it flying off in the gales too.

NICE ITEM BUT SMALL. ONLY SUITABLE FOR ONE CHICKEN
Nice item, well made, but very small, you would only be able to fit one chicken in it and has gaps in-between where rodents could easily get into it. Also not very strong wood. Has removable lids for easy access
