The carburetor on my Onan MicroQuiet RV QG 4000 (4KYFA26100L) suddenly stopped working, although I use a fuel stabilizer and exercise the generator regularly. I was shocked to learn that an OEM replacement would cost me over $350.00 to purchase, so I tried two different kinds of carburetor spray cleaner over several days hoping that the solvents would clear the trouble, but they didn't. I found this unit and decided that, for the price, it was worth trying to replace the defective carburetor myself. This afternoon, I was able to remove and replace the original carburetor with this carburetor and I was thrilled to hear my generator immediately roar back to life after I finished the installation and tested it! While this carburetor looks exactly like the original Onan, the manufacturing quality is not good. The main jet and needle is badly misaligned to the point of the needle completely missing the seat! This means that fuel is just pouring in uncontrolled which means the generator will not run.Since this is a mistake made during finish machining, there is a chance some units will be good and some not.This carburetor is a lot cheaper than the original, but you get what you pay for in this case.

This was the third carburetor from other companies I tried on my Onan Cummins Generator. Product worked great. Because of the location in my Forest River Forester not the easiest to install, but this was not the product fault. I am very happy with my purchase.

I work for a repair shop and when customers leave their generators setting for months at a time without cycling the jet in the carb crystallizes with tarnished fuel. Typical genuine onan carbs run $450 retail so I offer these as a second option because we don't all have that kinda money to put into a genuine carb, I have used a few of these and customers are very happy with the outcome and I haven't any customers come back.

Not sure if I did something wrong the first time or what but it leaked gas out of the intake of the carb. I took it off and inspected let everything air out and reassembled and no problems since.

After installing the carb, I primed the float bowl with the electric fuel pump. After priming I noticed gasoline dripping from the float bowl drain port and where the main jet fitting screws into the bottom of the float bowl. I tighten the drain port screw as much as possible, but it still dripped. I then gingerly started tightening the main jet fitting more than enough that it should not leak, but I could not get it to stop leaking. When a Onan OEM carb cost $500, I figured for $30 I would give this aftermarket carb a shot. It Didn't work for me.

I installed this in my Onan QG 4000.Initially it would not start. Seemed to be flooding like others have said. After some frustration.. I drained the bowl and retried while holding the intake valve wide open. It fired right up. I held my like that for a bit then let go, it's been working good ever since. Holding 59hz -/+ 1 which seems good to me. Ran the air conditioner and microwave at the same time and it didn't flinch. I'll update if anything changes but so far this is a win!Update: Unfortunately I started having problems again. I ended up doing like others have done and mixed and matched parts like the needle and float to upgrade my OEM carb. I can't say I have it running perfect but it does start up and run consistently, which is better than when all this started.Another Update: Within 6 months the shaft for one of the butterfly valves broke off from the (linkage?) bracket. This caused the generator to run at full throttle and shut itself down. Fortunately I still had my old OEM parts or I would have been SOL until I returned from my trip.This product is trash.

I got this item on time the price was great. After installing the carburetor it ran at a very high rate . I spent about 30 minutes adjusting the carburetor until it ran somewhat ok . The next day it ran better and the more I have ran the generator the better it has been . But overall its done the job. . I would buy again .
