Yes it's extremely large. It's larger than a 100mm.

Q: How is this supposed to be used in post processing with raw images? The instructions are so vague. I must be missing something.

I don't have one of these, but, I imagine you could use it the same way you'd use a grey card in post (take a picture of the grey card, as it's neutral, you now have the color cast of the ambient light). Set camera settings to 'Automatic' with the lens, set set the auto focus to 'OFF' place the filter right in front of the lens take a shot in the general lighting conditions of your subject, no need to have the subject in the shot. Use that shot to set your custom wb. Do it again if the overall temperature of the lighting changes.

Yes. The idea here is that you stand where whatever you'll be filming will be and point the camera at the brightest source of light with this filter in front of the lens and hit the WB button. It diffuses all the light coming into the lens to get a good average of what'll actually hit the subject.
