Balanced
This thing is well balanced with weight and ergonomics. I've split logs and downed a pretty big tree. This is a great alrounder. Bought a Fiskars sharpener as well.

Excellent axe
This is a very well-made axe from the weight distribution, the ergonomic handle, to the sharpness of the blade. I keep my axe oiled and sharpened and I can literally shave hair off my arm with it. Shaving tinder to create a fire is extremely easy. I will definitely purchase again when needed.

Amazing hatchet, sleek, sharp, and beautiful
This was hard to pull the trigger on, but once I received it I was in love with it. It was super nice, the grain orientation was perfect, the coloring was beautiful after a shot of linseed oil, and the blade was super sharp. Couldn't be happier!

GREAT AXE, GREAT STYLE, STEEL COULD BE BETTER
I now have all three versions of the NORDEN Fiskars hatchets. I really like their Scandinavian-style that combines modern tech, modern materials, and some bushcraft tradition. The ONLY downside I've found, is that the chopping edge is prone to chipping. If you aren't VERY careful when chopping, one strike into the forest floor has a good chance of chipping on tiny bits of gravel & debris. The edge is a bit too fine, and a bit over hardened.

Very high quality
Hesitated to drop this kind of cash on an axe, but it’s a keeper.

Bling for buck ratio is high
Nice looking axe with a great feeling wood handle. Not sure it's worth the price over the all-plastic model, but dang if I don't love the feel of some good hard wood in my hands! My only complaint is that the gate where the plastic is injected at the head of the axe has a nasty rough edge right where your finger goes if you want to choke up on it. Glass filled resin is really abrasive stuff, but a few strokes with a file fixes that.

Perfect little axe!
Awesome axe!! Get the 17in!! You won't be disappointed, the smaller is obviously a little lighter ( by about a pound ) but the 17in has more power and is long enough for two hands, but still has enough control to spit the smallest kindling. Also it will get sharper with use, as the coating on the blade wears a bit. Well done Fiskars!
