Helpful information
I’m old. Had to take a math test for a job opportunity and needed to catch up on math I haven’t used in decades. This book help and was easy to understand. And have to say I like the way they wrote it out

A life saver!
This is by far the best book about math I've ever seen, for me my math story began only when I was in 9th grade, my math teacher hated me and not only that, I couldn't understand the difference between a denominator from a numerator, same story for the other 2 remaining years of high school, if you ask me, I couldn't tell you exactly how I manage to graduate, but I did after all...Anyways, it wasn't until I became a graphic designer years later, that I wanted to study computer science (I wanted to learn how to program) so I enrolled college and... surprise! I needed to take "Math for Computer Science I"... when I got the book from college and read it I almost fainted, desperately, I signed for "Khan Academy" but it wasn't going as fast as I needed and, and I REALLY needed a super crash course for math as one of the 1st quizzes was due in a few days (less than a week) so I stumble upon this book and read the reviews, and I decided to give it a shot and in 3 days I read 65% of the book and it was good enough for me to start with the book from college, for the first time in my life I felt like I understood everything about it, and even thought, I was still making mistakes here and there (for obvious lack of practice and time) I DID understood the problems presented to me, needless to say, I feel so accomplished and not only that I did do the quiz and got 7 out of 10, which I know is not super, but is good enough for me.In the meanwhile I can only hope, as the course progresses, I will practice more and get better, so by the time other quizzes and the exams arrive I will feel confident enough that I will be able to pass them. Also forgot to mention, I think the reason why I could read it so fast, was because the book is written in a way that takes all the "serious business" out of math and actually makes it super fun, promise!, as advertised, is in plain english (take into account that english is not my native language, so if I could learn from it, you definitely can).

Solid
I sent this to my son as he was preparing to take the GREs. He was an officer in the Army at the time, stationed overseas. He's a very bright fellow, but math was never his forte, and he'd been out of college for four years. It must've helped, as he got a surprisingly good score on the math portion.

Best Math Tutor EVER!!!!!
I bought this book for my Kindle because I was always horrible in Math and was in a college that required a math course. Needless to say I was not happy since I just never "got it". The authors are so easy to understand and funny. They take all the inhibitions away from learning math. I am really enjoying finally grasping the concepts that eluded me for so many years.I highly recommend this book for anyone that either hates math or has struggled with just learning the basics, and even more than just basics. It's so easy to read, it keeps your attention because they speak our language and they really put it into a perspective that I can understand and relate to. I love the sense of humor they add to it. Kudo's to the authors. You have finally made learning math easy and fun. They also have links for calculators you can download to your laptop or smart phone, and web sites for more information. I can't thank the authors enough for breaking thru my thick skull and fear of math so that I can actually pass my math course. You will not be disappointed. I promise!

Mostly Basic Math
Although there are some formulas in the book, the majority of the information is pretty basic with the exception of the introduction of trigonometry. Unfortunately, the chapter on trigonometry is missing some key information (examples of converting degrees to sine) and instead reference using a calculator or Excel and give you no ideas on how for either of these methods. In this second sample problem for trigonometry, the calculations are not correct. I say this based on using Excel to do the conversion and also using a calculator on the internet to convert degrees to sine. Fortunately, my use of Excel matches the internet based calculations but that still does not allow me to get the same answer to the problem as the authors.
