Super book for ideas turning books into fun items and displays.
A Friends of the Library group in Sonora, California had a contest for best altered book some years ago. the displays in the library were fun, exciting, artistic and what a wonderful idea to bring people into the library and to invite interest in what to do with old and unwanted books. Re-purpose them!!! Lots of fun projects with directions included. If the displays are promoted in advance of an Altered Book Show, it will bring considerable attendance into the local libraries.

Good begining book.
Beth Cote and Cindy Pestka stimulate the creative juices! I am making plans for the collage clips. I love travel, so journals are a favorite.

Who doesn't like to alter?
This is a carefully arranged book with nice pictures and lots of helpful hints and explicit instructions. It also contains lots of lists and ideas of items you can use to make your crafts. Lots of stuff found in your house, tag sales, thrift stores, old games, etc.You will be surprised at how much of the stuff recommended and shown in projects can be found in your house! It's great for any crafter. It rests on my shelf dedicated to only the most helpful reference/instruction books.Go ahead, alter. It's okay. No one has to know you're an altered addict.

Great bargain
This book has great ideas on ways to use books that I have laying around. I especially like the portion that tells about general skills and procedures to accomplish a beautiful altered book.

Fabulous Book!
I have read this book several times and never get tired of looking at the pictures and projects. This was the first of the Altered Books series I bought and was inspired to create my first altered book of my own. I enjoyed this book so much that I also bought Altered Books 102, 103, and 104.

start to finish
This book shows you options for lots of things including creating a niche, adding drawers and coffee table display holders, ALL out of OLD BOOKS! Well the drawers are metal candy boxes put IN to the slots of the books. SO COOL! I like that they take you through the whole process of binding the books pages up till the finishing techniques for aging or just preserving the finished books.

Meh on condition
Overall a good book. Just came to me a bit damaged. Corners bent and spine bent as a new book isn’t okay.
