The media could not be loaded. Here is The Standard Review for the SUNVIE 300 watt Low Voltage Transformer for Landscape Lighting. The transformer features a photocell and timer to customize when and for how long your landscape lights are on. We like the automatic feature that turns them on when it's dark and off when it's light. This kit was very easy to install. If you can connect speakers, you can do your own landscape lighting. Simply plug in the controller, run the wiring, place the landscape lights where you want them and connect using the supplied connectors. The lights look great and provide elegant lighting and additional security for your landscape! The lights are waterproof. We've had ours two years now without any issues!

I just received my transformer and performed the test as instructed. The light would not stay on. After reading the "Warm Tips" (whatever that means), I noticed it said "If the transformer does not connect with load, it shows no output at terminals". I assume this means that the transformer will not generate any power if there is nothing connected to it. I checked my test light, and it only draws 2 W. Thinking this might be too low for the transformer to register, I added another such light and tested again with both lights connected. It worked fine. The moral of the story is that the transformer requires a minimum load of 3 or 4 W in order to work.

This heavy duty box is going to work great. Very easy to set and use. The adjustable time switch can be set from dusk to dawn, or set how long the light will stay on at after dusk.

Easy set up

We have been using the transformer for about 2 weeks without any issues - it seems well sealed from moisture penetration, however only time will tell. It is smaller and lighter than the xformer it replaced, a no brainer to setup, easily handles all our lights (30) mainly owing to the fact that we are using LEDs which last longer and require less voltage. It only supports 2 separate runs, one 12v, the other 14v. We are using 12 gauge wire which makes it a bit more difficult to make the connections and difficult to double up runs per set of connections. Note that there is a slight delay between when the voltage is applied and when the lights actually illuminate - but no issue here. Based on experience with several other outdoor transformers I would recommend the product, especially considering the price about $110 for 300w. Oh yes, the directions said to install the xformer about 12" above ground - we used some flat Pennsylvania blue stone.

Dead out of the box. Buttons illuminated but no 12 or 14v at terminals while checking with a digital meter and the photo eye taped over in “Auto Mode”…. Also waited 30 seconds, per instructions, to hear the relay “click”. Tech support doesn’t provide a phone number, just an email. I sent 3 polite emails & NO RESPONSE…big surprise….myself being true to a fault, missed the return window by 2 days..The good news is, I now have a beautiful 20lb toroidial coil wall hanger that is a great reminder as to why USA made products are no longer available…. Definitely a great visual while enjoying egg rolls & Lo Mein as those are the only products that seem to possess a shred of “QC” anymore.

This unit was very easy to install and the timer with photo cell is simple as can be with dusk to dawn,on off,and dusk with 2,3,4,5 and so on increments. A very good price point as well. I would recommend this product at this point. I have used only a week but very easy to operate and setup.
