Tobar 38321 ATMOSFEAR Board Game

This is rare and unique. Nobody realizes that this is only sold in Europe and other countries. It's not available here in the US, except through Amazon. The game is exactly like the 2004 version, which in my opinion was the best version of this game. Many people complain about the app not working right. It's not the app, it's your mobile device and your internet. This app pulls from a server any video and audio for the game. This is so it can be updated and changed for special holidays and such. It's meant to evolve over time. With that in mind, you'll never play the same game twice. Much better than a DVD with limited replayability.For those having trouble with the app, here's a suggestion. The app allows you to play offline mode. It downloads the necessary videos and audio. Once downloaded, the app is smooth as silk. You'll notice the little skeleton hand on the left side of the screen. That's where you access the menu for the offline mode. It may take awhile to download, so do this along time before you play. I have good internet, and it works flawlessly for me. I decided to download the files anyways, just in case this ever gets removed from the app store. Because with all these negative reviews, they may just do that.As far as multiple devices, I wouldn't bother. It doesn't add anything game changing. He may talk to an individual person once throughout the game. But he does that anyways in normal mode. Plus I think it takes you away from the emersion of the game. It's hard to get the app to use multiple devices. It's very glitchy. My advice, just screen share it to your tv and leave it at that. Not worth the hassle.The game is fantastic. The more people, the better. I'm glad this game is back and I thank the creators for making it available for us in the US. The price is cheap and it's an experience worth much more. Yes it's CGI, but imagine the cost of getting an actor to do this. Remember, the game is different everytime. So the actor would have to play that role for hundreds of hours of footage. The game would be so expensive. It's not like the DVD with maybe an hour of footage. So keep that in mind. They did a very good job of recreating the original. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This was a great family game very fast, very high pace, and you have to pay attention

Just like the older discontinued version except the gatekeeper is not as cool and you use an app instead of the vhs. Putting the keys together seemed silly and we had to fight with a few but other than that we love the game!

Recently played with my wife and two 15 year olds. Game is fun and fast. No need to "set the mood" the game is not scary one bit, it's more stupid humor and downright insulting as the guy calls you an idiot and a moron, etc. It was cheesy-cute, and we laughed a bunch. Will play again.

This is hilarious and fun to play. This game makes for long lasting memories and inside jokes. This is super affordable and has great re-playability.First version I played was in the 90’s - the people I played with then still bring it up, lots of great memories and laughs!

Tech stuff: The app doesn't work on the Samsung Fold. My husband has the 1st Fold and I have the newest one. We had to use my daughter's older phone to play. It was still glitchy here and there. It had nothing to do with internet speeds as a previous review implied. We all use the same wifi. Mirroring also wasn't the factor that determined whether it worked or not. We tried using it offline on the new phones and that didn't make any difference at all.Game play: It's chaotic and rushed. You're supposed to stop when the gatekeeper is on the screen, but the timer does not. The closer you get to the end, the more frequently he pops up. One person may take a turn before he reappears. This could still be fixed as apps can be updated, but we might try playing with the vhs YouTube video in the meantime. I do like how it wasn't the same game the second time we played. The gatekeeper adjusts his banter and adds a new task here and there.3 stars because it still has potential and there's an element of nostalgia. If you didn't play this as a kid, you might rate it lower.

I have the original game and needed a 2nd one. 1 for each kid for Christmas
