Mighty Max Battery ML12-12 - 12V 12AH F2 AGM Deep-Cycle Rechargeable Battery

A fellow Vietnam Veteran and I began collecting power wheel chairs and power scooters a year or so ago. They all needed repairs and of course batteries. We do not receive any money for the loan of a chair or scooter, and our local Veterans come first. Our fleet of equipment has grown to 12 power chairs and 10 scooters and nearly every one has needed batteries. Each chair or scooter requires 2 batteries, so, we must look for the best batteries and best price possible. That's where the Mighty Max Batteries fit in with our equipment. These deep cycle ( sealed) batteries withstand the continued daily charging needed to keep the equipment going. Mighty Max Batteries have always been delivered on time, packaged to get here without any damage and they are charged and ready to go. The pricing of the Mighty Max Batteries is another big reason why we use them. Buying batteries is a continuous need for us, and we will continue to purchase Mighty Max Batteries.

Bought two of these in April 2015 and installed them in an APC BackUPS-Pro 1000 to which my computer is attached.Yesterday (9/10/2016) I noticed an odd smell in my office of something being heated, but I couldn't locate it. At 11:30 PM, the UPS started beeping an alarm and about 30 seconds later, it turned itself off.When I touched the UPS, it was very hot, somewhere north of 150F. After letting it cool for ten minutes, I removed the front cover and to my dismay, saw that the tops of both batteries were extremely distended, so much so that they bent the metal retainer that holds them down.Because the batteries were still too hot to touch, I left the UPS off-line overnight. In the morning, I removed the batteries and took the photo you see here. You can see that the top surface has expanded by about 3/4" and the front and sides have buckled inward by about 1/4". I bought these as a separate pair, but the heat melted the plastic walls between them such that they are now stuck together. The only saving grace is that the containers didn't rupture, but if the UPS hadn't automatically turned off, they may have.Note that the UPS passed its self-test the day before, so I'm pretty confident that it was working properly. I've been using APC backup units for decades and have never had a problem with them.This is an unacceptable safety issue that must be addressed by the manufacturer.My advice: do not buy this battery.

This battery is for my grandson's John Deer(battery operated) Gator,it replaced the original battery that came with Gator. This battery works great so far,has lasted hours with no loss in power,I bought a trickle(maintenance) charger for it,the charger came with adapters,I used one of the adapters and connected it to the battery and I was still able to use the cover that came with the original battery,reason being is I don't have to disconnect the battery every time I want to charge it...I have the same type of connector on my motorcycle and atv,I just flip down the front cover on the Gator and plug in the charger.If you want to get creative I guess you could drill out an opening near the battery and have that charging adapter hanging out of sight or whatever and not have to open up the front cover on the Gator...maybe next season I will do something like that.PS: this battery is half the price of the original battery that came with the Gator.

UPDATED 8/19/20: The vendor responded very fast when I notified them that I thought I had a defective battery. They quickly shipped me another one, and it has been working fine for a few weeks now.I don't see how this can be a deep cycle battery as advertised (unless I don't understand what deep cycle means). On the battery itself it says not to discharge below 10.5v. Well, I didn't want to discharge it below that level. But it happened anyway. Now it is almost useless. It will charge up okay, but can't carry even a small load for a few minutes before dying.

Gave it a few days to check out how good these batteries are in use before reviewing them.Top notch, best set of four batteries I've ever purchased. Arrived well packaged and quickly, much faster than I expected. All bubble wraped. All date stamped, made last month. Nice and fresh.Here is the kicker, they were half the price of batteries i picked up local, and these were shipped for free.Highly recommended. Great product with deep cycle capabilities, I use them on my electric trike pulling comparatively heavy weight and these have already shown they have the stuff.Should you be looking for high quality power these will do as well as any and much better than most.
