excellent book on stock market
great comprehension with a lot of examples. it gives you great insights on how you view stock markets. The only thing is that the examples are quite old which conceptually still hold true but might be difficult to comprehend

Great book to revitalize the faith in good old stock investing
For people who veer away from basic concepts of why stock investing is still a great idea should keep this book handy and read it as many times as they feel until they imbibe the rules and psychology of it

Peter Lynch said about his good and bad experiences in picking stocks. He explained the constraints of huge mutual fund manager and thereby how he misses some of the best investing opportunities. As an individual investor need not face the constraints faced by a fund manager which are imposed be SEC. He has got all the freedom and time in the world. But then how to find a three bagger or a ten bagger firm, company or industry?Peter Lynch gave his personal experiences in finding out these multi baggers with real figures and time frames.Throughout the book he gave numerous examples how an individual or a small investor can find about the firms by looking around his home, office and in a nearby shopping mall.He gave number of examples how an individual investor makes common and silly mistakes in investing his hard earned money and thereby looses it. He describes with examples how this small investor will get excited by listening to his stock adviser and others in investing and looses his money.By simple rules he classified listed firms and explained how to study them, how much to invest, when to buy and sell and how to stay invested and how long the investor have to wait to get his expected returns. The facts are explained with charts and tables right from 1920 to 2000.At the end of the chapter the summary is given in bullet points. He cautioned about futures and options and explained how an individual investor and also big fund managers are loosing money. He gave his method of selecting a promising firm and get benefit before the market or stock brokers find it, which I liked it.This book is for an individual and small investors who can surely get benefit by following his advice and caution.

A stock investment cult classic
If someone is starting to invest, this book can be a good starting point. Oh my goodness, if there was ever a book that humorously examined the thinking of investors and the stock behaviour of corporations, this would be it. The wisdom will be applicable to future generations even if it was written a long time ago.
