Really like this unit
I like its size while at first, I thought it was going to be larger. I was actually looking for a small boom box type radio. Turns out I like the size very much. About 6.5" by 2" by 3". While the weather and alternate charging extras were the reason I chose it. It works good over blue tooth which is nice because it is also a speaker. I like that it has a solar charger, and the battery lasts a long time. It has a manual hand crank charger too but so far, I haven't had to use it. The interface is a little hard to get used to at the first. Just some small buttons at the bottom. Once you learn them it is pretty simple to operate.I would buy again; in fact, I purchased a second.

Used in Chicken Coop
We picked this up during Prime days for a radio to be outside in our chicken coop at night to provide some music and noise to soothe the chickens. We wanted something rechargeable and water resistant since we put it in a sheltered part of the coop but in case it does get water on it, it would hold up. This is on every night consistently from 7:30 pm to 6-6:30 am and it doesn't take long to charge back up every day to be ready to go for the next night. In the mornings we use either the reading light feature or flashlight feature to help light up the coop and run while its still dark out and it provides a good bit of light for us to see by. We haven't tried the crank feature for charging or the solar powered charging yet, but very happy with this purchase and so are our chickens! We turn on the radio and they settle right down at night.

I love this radio
I bought this radio for hurricane season in Florida. It works amazingly! It’s about the same size as a modern iPhone, but just a little thicker, and the reception is amazing. You can use the hand crank to power it, or you can set it out in the sun for solar power. The sound quality is really good, and it’s easy to figure out how to operate, even without reading the instructions. I do plan on reading the Instructions eventually, but my initial thoughts are it is definitely worth the small amount of money.

Not at all what I was expecting: who designs these things anyway?
Amazon just dropped off the package a few hours ago. I was excited to see what I had bought!Disclaimer: I do own another crank AM/FM radio/flashlight as well as a few 'water resistant' Bluetooth speakers. This little unit tries to combine the functions while adding Solar as a potential source of energy to help make its use last longer between cranks and/or charging by USBC.The unit arrived with %65 charge so it could be played with/used right out of the box. Coming in a bit larger than a Anker BT speaker I own (and a bit heavier) it appears well built and protected from water&dust.I live in a medium metro area with lots of FM&AM stations so once I got it turned on, I went to load up the memories with the available stations. Here's where I had my first stumble and had to get the manual out to see how to get it to auto-scan available stations. A bit strange but I got it started and waited for it to scan the FM band. Here's where the 2nd stumble came.It would appear that you can only INCREMENT the memory being tuned (by pressing the PLAY button) and it won't display the FREQUENCY of the memory until after a short delay when it tunes in that memory and starts playing it. The -/+ buttons (if just 'tapped' or pressed quickly) will decrease or increase the frequency by 100Khz (on FM). This has got to be the most befuddling way of tuning or cycling through memory channels on a radio I've ever come across!Sound? It can provide a fair amount of sound. Keep in mind that this is not a Bose or AltecLansing but rather a inexpensive radio/speaker/flashlight. However it should be noted that this a MONO speaker. Users can easily verify this by both VISUAL (front left under the grill a small driver can be seen, however front right there is NOTHING!!) and by placing both (front left and front right) up to your ear and LISTENING. Some lower frequency sound can be heard out the air vents in the left rear of the device. While the ~1.5" driver puts out more sound and is better quality then the internal speakers of my iPhone or iPad and will work in a pinch the fidelity is nothing to write home about. The flashlight and 'reading lamp' provide a decent amount of light.I have a trip planned for next week that I'll be bringing it along on. I'm planning on charging the battery to %99 (it won't display %100) before the trip. I've been listening to the FM radio for about an hour now at medium/low volume (#13 on the display) and the indicator has gone from 65 (when I started) to 64. I'm thinking that the battery life might be pretty good. The plan here is to use it outdoors around the camp and when not in use simply leave it on the table.I have a MONO Bluetooth speaker that I paid about the same price for that may have a larger driver (and can be DUNKED/SUBMERGED in water!!) however it does not have a radio, flashlight/reading light or solar/crank charging and I think the mAH of its internal battery is less than this device. This DOES sound better than my other very old crank only radio/flashlight.7/5/2023 Update:On/after a trip I left it on to the point that it drained the battery completely. No problem as it has a Solar panel and a hand crank for charging right? WRONG.Being lazy (like most of us) I decided against the hand crank and just left the radio where the solar panel would get sun most of the day and mostly forgot about it for a FEW MONTHS.While thinking that the radio was surely charged and ready-2-go I pulled it out on a recent trip, set to FM and set it to go find stations, which it started to do for about 30sec and then SHUT OFF. It would appear that the +2months of solar exposure was enough to enable the flash light and reading light but NOT ENOUGH to actually power the radio!Ahh but (still being lazy here) there still is USBC charge port right? Well err - not exactly. It MIGHT BE a USBC connector but that is NOT a USBC charge port as none of my USBC smart chargers would/could charge this device at all. I was forced to use a 'dumb' 5V supply with a USBC connector to fully charge this device.IMHO: a complete FAILURE as a "solar powered radio" but can work (for a while) as a awkward/large/heavy "solar powered flash/reading light".Next time I run the battery down to "0" I'll see if the hand crank is at all useful but at present I don't have very high expectations that it would power anything more than the lights.

Emergency weather radio
The size is about the length of a smart phone and 2” wide. Perfect portable size. FM comes in fine at home but at work(metal building). The stations don’t come in at all. Bluetooth work great. The solar panel and crank don’t seem to charge the radio. Fully charged radio has played 5- 10 hr days using Bluetooth! In all its and OK radio but wish FM would come in better at work.

Great little speaker!
I've owned several Block Rockers over the past ten to fifteen years. Always enjoyed having music outside when I'm piddling around.I was at a friends home recently and he had a little bluetooth device like this one. I was really impressed by the sound quality.I decided to get one for myself. I wanted AM as well as FM radio. I liked the idea of being able to charge it by hand cranking for emergencies. I live in hurricane territory. The lights were an added plus for me. Probably never need them but hey, they're there. The Block Rockers batteries always lasted for days, even more than a week at a time.I was OK with less battery life advertised for this speaker. But I left my apartment early in the morning and returned later the next day and was pleasantly surprised to hear the radio chugging out sound. Well more than 24 hours and it was still going strong.I've put my latest Block Rocker up for sale on Craigslist. This speaker beats it hands down. Light weight, stereo sound quality, portability and emergency capable. And it's a fraction of the price.
