Yay, It works!
My home is 20+ years old and had a photo-cell sensor already installed. When working, it turned on the lantern attached to my mailbox at dusk and turned it off at dawn. The sensor failed some years ago so I rigged it to remain on constantly which resulted in my changing out light bulbs often.A neighbor mentioned that Amazon sold the sensors. I purchased one (and a spare). And it works!!. My light automatically comes on at dusk and extinguishes at dawn. Works as advertised and installation was fairly simple.I recommend this product.

It works!
It works well so far. Now my front porch lights turn on after sunset and turn off before sunrise! I’m happy.

Easy install, reliable replacement
We had our wooden pole painted and the light fixture replaced. In doing so, somehow the old (20+ years) light sensor stopped working and the light remained on 24/7. No amount of troubleshooting resolved it, so off to Amazon to find a solution.This seemed to match in looks and size, so I took a gamble and purchased it. To my delight, it was an easy swap out with the old one- some wire connecting and screwing it in place and -whalla! it was installed.It works great- it turns the light on at dusk and off at dawn automatically. No more wasted electricity of having a light on during the day, or having to remember to turn the light on or off.
