Perfect Features for High Humidity Heat
Not all portable AC's are created equal. Besides an excellent reputation for cooling, the special features I love on this unit are: wheels (it weighs 64.5 lbs), a built-in cord wrap (to keep the electrical cord out of the way of the drain tube), the dehumidifier option and TWO drain plug locations so you can drain into a bucket, or at floor level. In my high humidity hot weather the dehumidifier option while cooling is essential, and the suppled drain hose removes excess water the internal evaporator pan can't handle, so the unit won't throw an error code and quit until the unit is drained (see manual p 21). Connecting the supplied drain hose to the higher plug location allows gravity to divert that excess water into any pan/container you supply, and you can empty that container as needed while the unit is running. The self-rising airflow cover opens when you turn the unit on and closes when you turn it off, keeping the vent area clean when the unit is not in use, which for me is 3/4 of the year. The controls are unobtrusive and practically invisible when the unit is off, and it comes with a remote. The well-designed unit is very functional,, easy to operate, quiet, cools quickly, and is super attractive! The video comparing it to a less attractive B&D wheel-less model that doesn't do any more, but costs more made this the obvious choice for me.

If you need to cool your place, DONT but this.
This product is super loud and rumbles violently when the cold air cuts off. On average this works fine for 5 minutes, then turns off for 20-30 minutes before the cool air starts working again. It doesn’t constantly cool or run. I live in Houston, Tx and the central air has stopped working so I purchased this in hopes of getting cooler. It doesn’t work, the room it’s in remains at about 95 degrees all the time. Because it only runs for 5 minutes at a time, this won’t cool any area quicker than the weather outside heats it up. Overall -5/5 rating. I paid for a huge fan that blows hot air.

Works well for my Bedroom
It works really well. My bedroom is probably only 200 sq ft, and this cools it very fast. Nice design. It isn't that loud at all. My 13,000 BTU one is wayyyyy louder than this one. I do have it on carpet so I am sure that helps. I am very very picky. I need something that keeps me cold at night. I can't sleep hot and this does a very good job.I appreciate that this one comes with a hose, because my 13000 one didn't for drainage. I always had to manually empty it and it is a pain. I would say for the money it is a great deal. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a warranty. In my experience, all A/C units are prone to leading refrigerant or something going wrong. It is worth the money in my opinion.

Great Portable AC Unit
The design is very nice looking with smooth lines. Very modern control panel. Cools the room very fast. But my critical objection is that a window must remain open to eject the hot air from the unit. The open window means the home security system must remain off. Otherwise, it’s a great unit. Although a window panel is provided that has a vent hole for the vent hose to mount in a partially open window the open window means the home security system must remain off or at least the zone of the window disarmed. A vent hose is also provided that connects the hot air exhaust port to the window panel so the hot air from the room via the unit can be ejected. I tried it without connecting the hose to the window hoping the unit would eventually also cool the ejected hot air but that did not work because the physics works out where more hot air is created than cool air so the unit can never catch up. Very cold air comes out the front of the unit and hot air comes out the back.

Not Cool At All Black & Decker, Pun Intended
Took it out the box and plugged it in on 6/30/23. Worked amazingly. Had the room ice cold at a temperature setting of 70. Turned it off and left to go eat dinner out with the wife. When we came back home and turned the unit back on, the compressor wouldn't run for more than 2 minutes without turning on. It's been 1 hour and 45 minutes and still no cold air, even after unplugging and replugging, turning the unit off for several minutes, etc. The compressor only runs for 2-3 minutes before shutting off. Don't waste your time. Maybe I got a dud but it seems like it's a common issue with this unit.

God tier for a damp basement
I live in a garden level basement that has always had high humidity. The windows are too small for a normal a/c. This thing is a life saver. Smaller than my old one that needed a drainage tube. Remote and on-unit controls. It has been evaporating the condensation without issue and keeping a rather large room (probably 40x15 ft) cool in 90+ degree weather multiple days in a row. About as a loud as a normal window a/c, but white noise doesn't bother me.

Not as cool as reviews said
It literally works and it's ok but it doesn't get freezing cold.
