I just got it today so im judging it from what I know as of yet but the safety issue is that the holder is heavy and the spring is thick so it doesn't let the tool slip and burn also there's grips around the tools which helps to not burn you ...if I find other things down the road I will edit my review but so far this is an excellent kit and I plan on using it for many years until I can afford a better one

This is the way to go, if you want to get into woodburning. High quality and works just perfectly. My favorite.

Purchased this about a year and a half ago and I loved it, it worked great for the few things I did. Used it only a handful of times, then life got busy and it got put into a closet.Recently decided to give pyrography another go, and this happens....the connections just snapped, I'm just glad it didn't melt down or cause a fire! Right before it happened it started shooting sparks out of the base where the wire tip goes in.Very unhappy with this for the price I paid for it, will not recommend anyone else buy this product, unless maybe somehow hopefully the seller decides to reach out and make this right for me, I have to go with 1 star.

The on/off toggle switch to the nib-pen broke after 5 months, preventing power to reach pen. As soon as I was able to reach Yihua, they provided excellent customer service and sent a replacement immediately. They were great to work with and I would buy from them again, hands down.It wasn’t immediately clear to me how to reach Yihua, and it took 2 days of frustrating calls with Amazon’s customer service reps to finally determine how. Web-site changes would facilitate contacting sellers.BTW, the pen handles are bulky, with the end of the tips a long ways from the end of your fingertips, making it difficult to use for fine detailing on wood carvings, making it take a bit longer than it should.

I like having two tip styles available. It heats quickly. The blue unit got plenty hot. It would have been nice if more lower temperatures were available . Worst feature was the wire nibs. Not straight or even, some have snags at the tips and set does not include any ball point nibs. Decent mid range price unit. ... I returned the blue unit (that ran way to hot) and got the green unit (better selection of solid tips & runs almost to cold so work takes longer, but at least I have a little more control.) they both state they have the same temperature range, but that is not my experience thus far. The picture is some work I did with the green one. Scratch that, the new one shorted out on the wire tip side after only a dozen uses. ☹️ now I'm returning it too.

Husband has taken up wood burning and he was using a small handheld burner so I got him this set and he said it is so much easier on his arthritic hands and he really loves how well it heats up and burns the patterns.
