Great book! I need a less "textbook" feel
Great book! I need a less "textbook" feel, would prefer if there was more of a "workbook/interactive" feel but this is a GREAT book for making immediate changes that improve your life. Authors know their stuff, didn't feel lectured to. LOVED that there was a full chapter on a subject then a SUMMARY of each chapter in the back. I was teaching a class on this topic and chose this book for the main resource because of that.

THANK YOU!
An amazing read! So helpful during the fifty times a day when I get distracted and then feel unproductive. Now I snap back to my best purpose immediately. Such a wonderful investment in my life. Thanks to the authors!

A decent introduction to productivity and self-care for people who have hit a wall with their conventional coping techniques
I did like the techniques around exercise, hydration and nutrition, and labeling and relaxation. While I appreciated the fact that all these techniques are gathered in one place, I didn't find any of them to be new. Most of these you can find in any book on productivity, resilience, or mindfulness. Also, many of these depend on having a certain level of control over your work environment. For example, the "Zone refocus" requires that you find a space here you will not be disturbed to accomplish your most important tasks. This not applicable to my work, which is a fast-paced design and manufacturing environment (to help deal with productivity among constant distraction and interruption, I recommend "The Perfect 15-Minute Day" by Pierre Khawand). The same with the "Decision reset" - many of us do not have the privilege of making the most important decisions early in the day - problems come up when they come up and you deal with them in the moment. Power poses have been basically scientifically debunked but go ahead and try them, it's more important that techniques work for you personally than for the population at large anyway.Overall this is a decent introduction to productivity and self-care for people who have hit a wall with their conventional coping techniques, but if you are a seasoned fan of the genre, I prefer "How to Have a Good Day" by Caroline Webb.
