MartinLoganMotion 40 Tower Speakers Gloss Black (Pair)

ML recommends a 72 hour break in period before any doing any critical listening. What I know is that these speakers sound amazing right outta the box. Crystal clear highs. Detailed mids. Thick, yet tight, low end. And all this with me running a middle of the road Onkyo AVR. I have a Pro-Ject X1 and a Pro-Ject S2 Phono Box Ultra. And my vinyl has never sounded so full and detailed. I look forward to the 73rd hour. But honestly, I can't imagine these sounding any better

A gift for my son's high-res streaming system, I wanted a tower design appropriate for a small living room. The Motion 40 is a small tower with sound that defies it's footprint. High and low frequencies are projected accurately even before the break-in period. My son is very pleased.

I've owned a set of VMPS Tower II speakers for 20 years. They served me very well. But the time came to retire them, and I wanted to downsize without sacrificing in sound. I demoed quite a few speakers in search of my new replacements; B & W, KEF, and Definitive Technology to name a few. None of them compared to the clarity, fullness, and clean sound of the Martin Logan's. I kept coming back to those speakers, and everything else I listened to was compared against them. I made the decision to purchase the Motion 40 speakers and could not be happier. The sound is dynamic. The treble and midrange deliver a truly compelling sound. I knew when replacing my VMPS speakers with these, the deep bass would be a little lacking. But paired with a good subwoofer, you will not be disappointed.

I went from using polk Rti7s to the Martin logan motion 40s and the difference is nominal. Kind of disappointed giving the price difference. A pair of Rti a7s can be had for 300 a piece. Motion 40s will set you back 1,400 a peice. I was thinking I would hear this big sound change that would make the polks sound like fisher price speakers but that wasn't the case. I'm powering the speakers with a 275 watt pc emotiva amplifier connected to a yamaha aventage 2080. I feel the logans are a tad smoother in the upper range and a bit tighter in the lower end but nothing that justifies the the cost. If I would had known this before I sold my polks I would have returned them and just kept the polks. So anyone looking for the best bang for the buck I don't think the polks can be beat.

The best speakers in this price range, and because they are discontinued you get a great discount on them. Speakers arrived safely, included all original box accessories and warranty cards. Since this vendor is official retailer for ML, you get the proper warranty. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great sound.

For the price, these speakers are amazing. I listened to these as well as the 8" version. I thought that these were tighter and a better fit for my apartment. One of the speakers arrived with a small dent in the speaker grill. The vendor was amazing! I reported the problem and had a replacement grill in less than a week.

Ordered these speakers for my husband. He loves the MartinLogan brand. Speakers are perfect in size and sound.
