The 7Hz Salnotes Zero directly competes with the similarly priced Moondrop Chu.Overall, the Zero and the Chu are neck-and-neck in terms of sound quality. They each have certain strengths and weaknesses compared to the other, but both put other options at the price point to shame. The two IEMs also make different trade-offs in terms of build and accessories. While buyers will need to weigh which characteristics they value more in choosing between the two, both are solid buys for $20.SOURCES:I have used the 7Hz Salnotes Zero with the following sources:Qudelix 5KHidizs S9E1DA 9038DPACKAGING AND ACCESSORIES:The 7Hz Salnotes Zero comes in a small white cardboard box. The packaging features pictures of the Zero on the front and back covers.In addition to the IEMs and detachable 2-pin cable, the Zero includes six pairs of silicone eartips in several varieties. These appear to be the same varieties described in my Dioko review:The red, blue, and orange pairs are squatter and more conical in shape and feature wider nozzles. The light blue and yellow eartips are more round with narrower nozzles. The pink pair is also round but with wider nozzles than the other round eartips.The pair of eartips resembling AZLA SednaEarfit Crystal eartips included with the Dioko is not included with the Zero. The Zero includes a product information card and a user manual written in English and Chinese, as well as a small velcro tie. The Zero does not include a carry pouch or case.BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN:The 7Hz Salnotes Zero has a two-part plastic chassis with a stainless steel faceplate. The faceplates have a jagged, angular outline. “SAL♪NOTES ZERO” is laser-etched at the base of each faceplate. There is a small circular rivet at the top of each faceplate. The faceplates have developed minor scratches over the course of my review.There is a small circular recession on the inside of each chassis with an embossed “L” or “R” indicator. There is also a pinprick vent at the base of the nozzle. The nozzles have the same metal and paper nozzle covers as the Dioko, and have extruded lips to secure eartips.The 2-pin connectors are very snug and quite difficult to remove. The 2-pin connectors fit flush with the surface of the IEM housing body. Each 2-pin entry site is marked with a small red dot to indicate polarity.The included 2-pin cable has two strands that are joined in parallel below the Y-split. The cable uses a mix of metal and dark plastic hardware. The cable jack has a straight form factor. “SAL♪NOTES” is printed in white along the length of the jack housing. There is strain relief above the jack housing but none at the Y-split. The cable has pre-formed earguides without memory wire and a rubber chin-adjustment choker. The curved 2-pin housings have faintly raised “L” and “R” markings. The cable is mildly microphonic.COMFORT, FIT, AND ISOLATION:The 7Hz Salnotes Zero is intended to be worn cable-up. The earpieces have a shallow insertion depth. I found the Zero to be very comfortable. However, secureness of fit is below average and the housings required occasional readjustment with most eartips I tried the Zero with. Isolation is fairly poor. There is mild driver flex.SOUND AND COMPARISON TO THE MOONDROP CHU:The 7Hz Salnotes Zero is tuned very similarly to the Moondrop Chu.Like the Chu, the Zero has a Harman-ish sound that emphasizes sub-bass over mid-bass, features a robust pinna gain region, and slopes downward from the pinna gain region through the upper treble.The biggest tonal difference between the Chu and the Zero is that the Zero’s pinna gain region peaks later than the Chu. The Chu’s pinna gain region is centered around 3 kHz, while the Zero’s peaks later at around 3.5 kHz. This is a subtle difference, but depending on your ear physiology, may impact which of the two IEMs vocals sound more natural with. The Zero has a twinge more measured sub-bass than the Chu, although the difference between my samples is so small that this may be a question of unit variation rather than intended tuning. Subjectively, I feel that percussion actually has a greater impact on the Chu than the Zero. The Chu also has a hair more upper treble extension than the Zero.The Zero’s sub-bass shelf is mild in its amplitude, and sub-bass extension is average. Bass articulation and resolution are both very good. The Zero’s bass is well-textured for the price but is lacking in impact. The result is a clean but underwhelming bass tuning. After hearing the Chu and now the Zero, I have come to believe that if an IEM opts for a pure sub-bass shelf, the amplitude of that shelf needs to be greater than what either of these IEMs displays. The bass does not bleed into the lower mids.The Zero’s midrange is on the cooler side. Male vocals have grit but are slightly lacking in warmth. The amount of body to male vocals is somewhere in between these two other qualities. Female vocals are slightly more forward than male vocals, though both are very intelligible. Female vocals do sound more natural on the Chu than the Zero. On the Zero, there is a hint of strain and sibilance. On the Chu, female vocals are just slightly more grounded. With that said, the Zero’s midrange clarity is astonishing for an IEM of this price. The level of presence is essentially perfect for heavy rock genres. Timbre is slightly dry but natural sounding overall.The Zero has slightly less lower treble energy than the Chu, which I prefer. Like the Chu, the Zero has a noticeable drop-off in the mid-treble which deprives cymbal hits of sparkle. While the Chu has better upper treble extension than the Zero, the Zero has slightly crisper treble transient delivery. The Chu has a larger soundstage and slightly better detail retrieval. Imaging between the two is comparable. The Zero has the best instrument separation I have heard on an IEM at this price.AMPLIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND SOURCE PAIRING:The 7Hz Salnotes Zero does not need a powerful source to reach a usable listening volume. I did not notice hiss with any of my devices.

Decidí comprarlos porque me entró la curiosidad de probar un IEM chifi. Actualmente tengo unos ATH SR50BT, que me gustan mucho conectados por cable(también son Bluetooth), pero me hacen sudar las orejas y no son cómodos de usar estando acostado, por eso quise probar algo más pequeño.El envío fue rápido y sin problemas, todo bien con el vendedor ya que no fue necesario interactuar.Sobre los 7hz Salnotes Zero, me enteré de ellos viendo reviews en YouTube y leyendo en la web. Había buenas opiniones y me parecieron una buena opción sobre los Moondrop Chu, los Truthear Hola y los Tangxu Wan Er, con un sonido equilibrado y coherente.Los Zero vienen en un empaque sencillo y pequeño, no incluyen estuche, cuentan con 6 pares de gomas de silicón para los oídos en diferentes colores, 3 con agujero estrecho para graves y 3 con agujero amplio para sonido normal. Yo personalmente uso las pequeñas, y en comodidad ese es mi punto, las gomas incluidas no son tan cómodas para mí, pero ese es un problema mío, siempre lo he tenido con todos los audífonos que se introducen en el canal auditivo, creo que necesito una medida un poco más pequeña. Ya que pruebe con otras gomas lo comentaré. El proceso de adaptación me ha tomado un poco porque llevo tiempo sin usar audífonos que se introduzcan en el canal auditivo, aunque en mi caso la sensación de incomodidad ya está pasando rápidamente después de unos dias, pero esa demora también es por como yo soy. Me gusta el cable desmontabke, se siente y funciona bien, fue un punto sobre los Chu.En cuestión de como suenan, el fabricante 7hz indica en el manual qsue antes de usarlos por primera vez se reproduzca musica suave por 10-30 horas con volumen moderado. Después la música que normalmente se va a escuchar a un volumen medio durante 100 horas. Lo que se conoce como un proceso de quemado(burning o breaking) para lograr el mejor sonido disponible en los IEM. Es como aflojar unos zapatos. No me di cuenta de esto, así que este proceso aún me hace falta, pero si he notado como va mejorando el sonido. Aún no cubro el periodo de tiempo indicado.He estado escuchando Rock en inglés y español, y algo de Pop 80's y 90's. En los graves suenan bien pero no son para amantes de los graves/basshead. Los medios (en donde van las voces) suenan muy nitidos y claros, muy disfrutables. Los agudos están muy bien y se notan. El ambiente o soundstage esta bien posicionado, no muy grande pero es adecuado, se colocan bien los instrumentos y la voces, tienen buena diferenciación. Un punto a notar es que la reproducción va a depender de la calidad de la grabación, una mala grabación no va a sonar excelente, pero te sirve para diferenciar cuando una grabación está bien hecha. Canciones como Sultans of Swing de Dire Straits tienen pegada y puedes captar todo muy bien. Me han servido para apreciar las grabaciones de Zoé en vivo. No son IEM con un rango Hi-Res pero se nota diferencia con grabaciones que solo son lossless.Los he probado con Amazon Music Unlimited, no sé porque pero me parece que sus grabaciones son mejores. También con Apple Music. He reproducido la música en mi Huawei Mate 20, que tiene un chip DAC, le da buen sonido y no es necesario subir el volumen más allá de la mitad para apreciar todo, pero con más volumen mi oído se satura, por lo cual no los uso a tope de volumen aunque no distorsionan, por lo menos con lo que he probado. Hice la prueba con una MacBook Pro 2015, y con mayor amplificación suenan mejor. No tengo un DAC dedicado pero es mi siguiente plan de compra. Me gustan, valen lo que cuestan. Los Audio Technica suenan mejor con cable, pero estos Salnotes Zero rinden bastante a un precio muy inferior y son bastante cómodos de usar. Hicieron que me anime a probar otros IEMs.Edit:Ya con más tiempo les puedo decir, efectivamente, se debe realizar el proceso de quemado para obtener el mejor sonido de los Salnotes Zero, las primeras horas de escucha pueden no ser agradables o decepcionar. De las puntas incluidas con los Zero, las más abiertas producen un sonido un poco más agudo, lo cual al subir el volumen es molesto en mi oído derecho. Las más cerradas controlan los agudos y mejoran los graves. Con las puntas incluidas el sello es muy bueno. Compré unos eartips de silicon de TRN, me funcionan muy bien, me gustan a veces más que las de 7hz, otras veces prefiero las de 7hz, el sonido de TRN es intermedio entre las abiertas y cerradas de 7hz. También de TRN compre unas eartips de Memory Foam, el aislamiento acústico es muy bueno, mejor que las de silicon, pero se pierde agudos, te pueden funcionar muy bien para el transporte público.Canciones como "Thunderstruck" de AC/DC suenan geniales, se puede identificar cada instrumento con buena distribución y sonido. "Take on me" de A-ha suena que da gusto, buena distribución y con detalles. "Year of the Cat" de Al Stewart realmente enamora los oídos, los detalles son muy claros con buen soundstage. "Aquí no es así" de Caífanes tiene buen bajo, se notan los detalles generales. "Las batallas" de Café Tacuba es otra canción que suena espectacular, las guitarras acústicas tienen muy buen sonido y en general se disfruta muy bien.He leído que algunos tienen problemas con uno de los audifonos, con menor volumen o ha dejado de sonar, probablemente los usaron después de bañarse o les entró cera de los oídos, deberían intentar destapar la rejilla(si hay cera obtaculizando) o meterlo una bolsita para la húmedad donde guarden los Zero. Desde que leí sobre eso, empece secarme bien los oídos después de bañarme.En definitiva, recomiendo los 7hz Salnotes Zero, por su precio, ofrecen mucho, podrían ser mejores pero eso subiría el precio, a veces pueden ser un poco agudos de más, lo cual obliga a bajar el volumen. Pero eso depende más de la grabación. Encargué unos Truthear Hexa, después les hago la compartiva.

Hatte die Teile schon länger auf dem Schirm - habe sie mir zum Prime-Day für knapp über 23 Euro geholt.Ich benutze sie hauptsächlich zum Zocken von Shootern am PC. Für mich haben sie, im Vergleich zu meinem Logitech G PRO X Headset, einen besseren Umfeld-Sound, Gegner höre ich deutlicher und somit früher.Auch für Musik sind sie für mich völlig ausreichend. Einen USB-C auf 3.5 mm Audio Adapter/Verstärker (DAC-Chip) habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert. Da der aber für die Nutzung (mit einem Smartphone) zum Teil empfohlen wird, werde ich das ggf. nachholen, wenn ich die auch zum Musik hören nutzen will.Meine Prio für die Nutzung war und ist aber die Verwendung für Gaming.Hierfür kann ich sie, für den Preis (auch regulären), nur empfehlen.Die mitgelieferten Ohrpads können von mir auch verwendet werden. Ich muss diese nicht separat nachkaufen. Da hilft nur ausprobieren.Wer die als vollwertiges Headset nutzen möchte, muss sich hierfür ein separates Mikrofon, die Version mit Mikrofon oder ein zweites Kabel mit Mikrofon kaufen.

for what i spend, 25 pounds, these really are great. I picked them up as i had my air pods pros stolen and needed a solid pair of iems (in ear monitors) for commuting, and these definitely punch up for there price.for reference mainly used these with an iphone 11, with the lightning to 3.5mm adapter from apple, mostly using Spotify, youtube and Netflix.bare in mind that although they are really good for their price they are at the end of the day still cheap and therefore compared to higher end iems they are not first class, however if you had not told me the price, i would honestly believe they would sit in the 50-75 pound price range.comfort wise they sit rather nicely, they come with a range of ear tip sizes all in different colours. ive had them in for several hours at a time no problem, listening to music and playing games or watching videos and always sounded and felt amazing.tl;dr, great for the price, if you need a solid pair of iems, for an affordable price, these are a no brainer
