Nice part but won't fit a low-profile case/server case.
This is a good part and I have no complaints with it, but for those looking to stuff it in an ultra-low profile case, you may have a problem. I have a very low profile rack server that this is too tall to fit in - no amount of "engineering (read: dremmel work)" will make it fit - it's just not designed for it. But that's not the part's fault and isn't advertised as such, so I gave it the five stars it deserves. Otherwise, I was impressed with the build quality. If you are using this in a clear case/visible build, it has a nice dark color/sheen to it.

Not for regular SATA drives, buyer beware.
The board is a pass through to PCIe only, there is no SATA controller on this card, and so this is not for regular SATA HDDs or SSDs.This PCIe cars needs some very specific drives that I didn't even know existed.

Does not work if you already have maxed out your mobo's onboard SATA
I ordered this because I have maxed out my Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero (wifi) SATA ports, which is 8. I also am utilizing the two m.2 NVME drive slots. In windows 10 I have 8 SSDs that appear in "my computer".Unfortunately I need more space and my solution has been an external dual SSD hub that plugs in via USB3 (and has to be externally powered as well). This doesn't look very clean and has two more wires that I must have, which is rather unacceptable and unsightly. This arrived very quickly and packaged safely for transport. It comes in a cardboard box with plenty of padding and an anti-electrostatic bag. It also comes with 2x long (red) SATA cables, intended to be used if you want to add 2 more SSDs somewhere in your system.I initially installed this in my extra PCIe 1x slot, as it fits nicely into the small port and was above my massive 5090 GPU (not a typo). I checked BIOS to ensure that the slot was active but it would not read any SSDs (I used both slots on this card). In windows I did not see them in Disk Management. I assumed it must be the PCIe 1x slot, so I moved it into a normal PCIe 16x slot below my GPU. It still would not recognize any additional SSDs.I believe this is due to the statement listed in the product details "no SATA controller", which means that it is utilizing the onboard SATA controller from my mobo, but unfortunately that means that they will not appear as the Asus motherboard has a maximum allocation of 8 SSDs via the SATA controller, 6 via the onboard SATA slots and 2x NVME slots.I attempted to test and see if I installed my extra two SSDs via the extension SATA ports on this card, and powered them by my PSU, but this did not work and introduced a random glitching of audio and graphics, needless to say it seemed very scary for a few minutes. This product is most likely for someone that has a *case space* issue and you have no location to install two SSDs within the case, this will effectively provide two SSDs into a PCIe slot, but if you are already maximizing your motherboards allocation of SSDs, then this will unfortunately not solve your problem as you will need one with a SATA controller and subsequently the price would be higher.I would still recommend this to others that need to relocate or provide a mounting location for two more 2.5" SSDs, but not to those looking to add more SSD ports to a maximized system.

Does not seem to work
I purchased 3 of these dual ssd cards with the expectation of adding more storage to a newly built Asus system. I was very disappointed that the board along with 2 8 tb drives were not recognized both in explorer and disk management. I am currently using an OCW ssd carrier with 8 tb and it works like a champ. I would not recommend the Sedna dual ssd board.
