We have ours on a square drop similar to tea drop i think it fits most vehicle's

Q: How well does this hold up in a storm?

Not great for strong winds. As the guy ropes are attached to the over sheet and not directly to the poles they don't offer alot of support which leads to the poles flexing inwards . Everyone else's tents were holding up well to the wind we encountered but my tailgate tent was folding right in it did flex back up but you couldn't stand inside whilst it was happening. This wasn't even a storm just a coastal wind .

It will stand up without the vehicle, yes. But you can easily gain access the inside of the tent.
