Highly adjustable, great for a retrofit.
Former homeowners left me a dirty old storm door laying face-down in the front lawn covered in splotches of paint, nail polish, old chewing gum and dirt. It had a lot of potential though- full length glass with a white frame. I decided to refurbish it by removing it and cleaning it from top to bottom. I also replaced the ugly brass hardware with satin nickel hardware. As a final icing on the cake, I replaced the thick, misaligned brass door sweep with this one. It's really nothing fancy at all - it appears to be made of either vinyl or PVC. It comes slightly over-sized so I had to cut it to size with a hacksaw. I assume they do this to ensure that it fits on most doors. It is adjustable to the thickness of your door - my storm door is about 1.25" thick and I was able to retrofit it perfectly. Since my original door sweep had quite a bit more height to it than this one (this one rises about 1.5" from the bottom on the front side and 1.25" from the bottom on the back side) I drilled new holes for this door sweep and plugged the old ones with caulk. I would probably recommend drilling new holes in most cases, as it is the best way to ensure that the bottom of the sweep makes a complete seal with the bottom of the door frame. The screw holes on the sweep are oblong to allow for a little bit of vertical adjustment as well. Anyways, the sweep blends in really well with the storm door and at the end of my little project, I ended up with what looks (in my opinion) just as good as a brand new storm door.

Fixed my storm door issues
Had an old storm door whose sweep was disintegration & no longer sealing adequately. Removed it, trimmed this to size & just slid it on without even screwing or fastening it in any way. It gripped on fine and has been hanging on ever since. Might go back with some tape if I feel like it is slipping but this has greatly improved my door with very little effort.

Great product
With rental properties, it seems like the storm doors fail all the time! Somehow the bottom portion was missing after vacate, so without this product we would have either needed to replace the whole storm door, or somehow cover the bottom in another way. I would suggest sealing the edges of this with a little silicone so water does not drip through and cause the particle board in the core to deteriorate. If we had done that in the first place we probably wouldn't have this problem.Easy to install, but you might need to adjust the door at the bottom so it sweeps properly.

disappointed.
Easy to install but, It would have been better if the sweep fins were longer. They are only about 5/16" long, and we all know that exterior door sills are on a 5 degree slope to the outside of the door. They should be at least 1/2" long with each one getting longer as you get towards the outside on the door sill. Maybe somebody from MD Products will read this and pass it along to someone in the design dept.

Waste of money...at least in my case.
After years of having the brass/gold sweep on our storm door, I purchased this trying to save a few dollars versus the cost of a color matching sweep from Larson. I wish I'd saved my money and just went with my gut. The sweep was barely tall enough to compensate for the drop from my door sill. In fact it’s an inch shorter in height than the original. It looked so horrible that I tossed it in the trash, ordered a color matching sweep from Larson, and spray painted the original white until the one arrives from Larson.I didn't even bother to take pictures the fit was so bad. Guess I should've looked at the measurements in the description and not been hypnotized by some of the installation pictures posted with 4 and 5 star reviews.
