Kingfisher GA001 Giant Tower Blocks Game - Wood

I read the other reviews and was a little concerend as to what i was going to get but i can honestly say the product was perfect. The wood wasn't split or rough. There was also a comment made about the height not being 1.2m. The description does say UP TO 1.2m. This is the max height the tower will go to in a game. The tower height is about 0.6m when first set up but you wouldn't want it any higher to start with as kids wouldn't be able to reach the top as the the tower grows! This is a great game for a great price and we will have hours on fun in thr garden with it.

I'll start by saying, that despite the mentioning of it's flaws, this is a great product at it's price point. The tower made is of an impressive size.My main complaint is that it's described as a garden game. These blocks over time (as yet not worked out), will absorb and retain moisture. But this won't impact me at all.My second complaint is how fragile the blocks are. Falling in the wrong way on a hard surface might take a bit off.In short, I'd recommend this to everyone with a carpeted interior and/or a garden that is guaranteed to be dry... But not hard... So maybe a bit of cushioning moisture underneath... Oh I don't know. I've used it once, and I'm glad it's in reserve. If I get another 10 uses out of it (which I most certainly will), I'll be happy.

Great for garden parties

Item arrived as expected and was very pleased with the size as is perfect for outdoor games. Bought to be used with friends during lockdown and is a big hit with everyone. Did not have any issue with the quality - I was concerned slightly with some of the reviews as I wanted to paint them - but no issues here!

Great toy - the kids love it. The wood pieces are a bit rustic and smell of pine, but that I quite liked. Quite heavy, but a real family game.

We ordered this and it arrived in good time, but when we opened the box we were absolutely shocked. This toy is dangerously manufactured. The brans we received was "Redwood Leisure" and not Kingfisher as claimed in the advert.20 of the 60 blocks had splinters that would have injured children (and in fact I got a few splinters in my hands while unpacking them).Almost every block was mis-shapen in one way or another, which makes the tower unstable.Virtually none of the blocks are cut straight - some of the angles that should be 90 degrees were 80 degrees. Some blocks were twisted, some slightly warped.None of the blocks were sanded sufficiently. There were clear rough patches on most, and some had splinters sticking out from the sides up to half an inch long. Other splinters were far smaller, but this is a product that clsims it is suitable for children over 3 years on the box - it shouldn't have ANY splinters or sharp edges!Many of the blocks were different sizes - some varied by up to 5mm in thickness, which again makes the tower unstable.All the blocks had sharp corners and sides, and had not been rounded off.There were dents and chips and even deep dents in the blocks from the power tools used to cut them. Most of the power tools used had left marks, either grubby oil marks or burn marks at the ends.None of the blocks were varnished.The supplied box was tatty and falling apart - not surprising as I think this was probably caused by the contents!This literally was a box of off-cuts. I could have done better myself with some cheap timber from the DIY store and a hacksaw - except I would have at least sanded them properly and varnished them!If you buy a "proper" one of these games all the blocks are properly sanded, have had the edges rounded off so that are smooth to the touch, are cut properly and are also usually varnished to make them weather-proof.Don't waste your money. I hope I can get a refund from the seller. This product should simply not be on sale.

Sturdy and great fun. Took out of box as cardboard looked like it had sweated and was slightly mouldy. Wood was ok fortunately.
