Blanket weed gone and pond clearer for months
Even though I knew this was going to happen I must say when I first put the product into the pond and it went cloudy white I was a little apprehensive. After just a few days the cloudy water had gone and I could see that the blanket weed was already changing colour. After a week the blanket weed had completely gone. After ten days the water is clearer than it’s been for months, and I can even see the gravel on the bottom of the pond. The fish are much more active now the blanket weed is gone and I can enjoy seeing better them even when they swim to the bottom. This product is amazing after just one application. I imagine I’ve got enough left to keep it clear for the next year.

IT WORKS
I have been using this product for about a month in my small goldfish pond which has a mixture of plants and has been plagued by blanket week for the past few years, as soon as summer arrives and the temperature rises it multiplies like mad choking the pond and the pump.I've tried numerous other "solutions" over this time - Viresco, barley straw extract, Pond Balance, Phos-Kit to name a few but none of these made the slightest difference to the weed which I had to remove by hand every week to allow the fish to move aroud !When I first applied Blanket Answer the pond went a bit murky as the product is a milky colour when mixed with water and applied. However after a few days I noticed the pond was much clearer than it had been for ages. After a week the blanket weed was still in evidence but it had not grown at all as previously. After 2 weeks I applied a second dose and the blanket weed has slowly reduced since, some had sunk to the bottom and I scooped it out. I now feel confident that the problem is well under control. Best of all the other plant life has been unaffected, in fact the lillies seem to be thriving and the fish are very happy.UPDATE AFTER 3 MONTHS.The blanket weed has all but vanished. When left untreated for a months or so it does start to slowly return again but all that is needed is a small "maintenance" dose to knock it out again. The other pond plants thrive on this product and have never looked better, the water is crystal clear and the fish very healthy. I'm not easily impressed but this stuff is worth it's weight in gold ! when I think back to the mess and maintenance I had to carry out before - highly recommended.

Just watch the temperature and it will work
After many disappointing products; I chose this due to its availability in small quantity so, if it failed, I wouldn't be chucking so much in the bin - so here I am buying another lot !The main thing seems to be to watch the temperatures; this is an enzyme, after a little research I found enzymes basically slow down when cold and their limited life-span can expire whilst they are not working at their best. Of note, several stockists say temperature is not important but even the manufacture's website recommends 10°C + and warns of reduced/nil effect below thisI waited for some weather where the night-time temperature wouldn't be too low, mixed the powder in a watering can and spread it over the surface of my pond. The water went cloudy for a few days, fish kept on feeding - plants were unaffected etc. Most of the weed had gone off-white and was clearly unwell - so, a week after the first treatment I repeated and, a few days later, ALL of the weed that I could see was off-white and dead. Sump filters were taking out a slimy whitish gloop. Edges of the pond were still off-white until I figured it that it just brushed off, it was no longer clinging to the walls !Blanketweed spreads rapidly due to thousands of tiny reproducible bits being released during any removal. So I am planning for a low level background dose of this stuff to keep the waterborne bit dead and maybe a full on dose at the end of the warmer weather to settle it down for the winterJust my humble opinion, I am sure others will disagree - but this stuff is awesome

It works!
I have a tiny pond in an old ceramic butler's sink, but brought in blanket weed on some pond plants and it was taking over. I was on the verge of scrapping the whole thing when I saw this and thought I might as well give a try. I bought the smallest size and calculated the tiny amount I needed, but I sprinkled it in and waited. Nothing happened for a few days and I thought maybe my calculations were wrong or, as usual, I'd wasted my money, but then I noticed the blanket weed was changing colour. A little over a week later it had completely disintegrated. I had to flush out the pond because I only have a tiny pump, but the blanket weed was gone and I have a clear pond again. It's not cheap, and I had to buy more than I will ever need for this little pond, but it works brilliantly so was worth every penny and if I ever need it again I still have plenty.

The definitive answer to blanket weed
Wow ... what a product. I have tried almost every other blanket weed remedy on the market over the years. This one actually does exactly what it says on the tin.I cleared a fair bit of weed by hand before using the product but you don't have to - you just end up with more sludge.5 days of white water - very gradually clearing over a two week period to crystal clear water for the whole of the summer.I can now see the bottom of the pond and all the fish - the first time for many years. Will definitely treat with this again when needed and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone suffering with blanket weed.It has even kept the waterfall area clear and that's a first. Some people have written that it didn't work for them. I can only assume that they didn't follow the instructions properly. My pond is 9 ft long x 7 ft wide by x 4 ft deep - approx 1400 gallons - i used approx 550g of the powder to treat my pond and it worked perfectly first time. The small 200g tub is deceptive when you look at the advert as you could assume it was a large tub .... there is also an 800g tub which i also purchased once i realised my mistake. .... it will all get used at some point.
