Well worth the money
I've been putting off getting a new PC for a long time. My last one was a hand me down and as I'm self-employed, working from home and completely reliant on my computer, I thought it was time to upgrade as my computer was so, so slow and noisy. I took advice from my IT guy and he suggested this. Wow, what a difference from my old computer. No waiting around for pages to download or documents to open. He set it up for me but it seemed easy enough. Had it a month or so now and no problems at all (hope I haven't jinxed it). So yes, very happy with the purchase. Oh and yes, someone else commented on how quiet it is, and it is! Much smaller too than my previous computer tower. I wouldn't hesitate buying a refurb again either.

Perfectly adequate working desktop
This was bought to replace my ageing desktop, also a Dell OptiPlex, purchased new. This is smaller than its predecessor, but if anything works better. The only problem in setting it up was with the wifi connection. Initially the dongle provided did not function, and much fruitless time was wasted with irrelevant diagnostic checks. However, when I switched the dongle to a different USB port all was fine - it turned out that the port I had originally used was inoperative. However, when attempting to move the dongle to a permanent site it just fell apart. A cheap (£10) replacement did the job perfectly. Now everything is running smoothly and satisfactorily for my needs.

Very happy
Arrived in less than 48 hours, well protected & packaged. CPU was a 3240 not a 3220 so it’s about 5% faster than I was expecting! 8Gb RAM and WiFi dongle included. No monitor or keyboard. Booted fine and looks like a fresh clean install of W10 professional. Device manager checked, no warning triangles, everything’s working. Great value, this is going to be a Linux Mint machine. NB you can add a graphics card BUT it needs to be a narrow (low power) PCB and you’ll need to take the metal backplate off of it. I added a GT 730 which gets its power directly from the PCI connector. I don’t think you could add a ‘proper’ gaming card to this system (not that anyone’s selling them for reasonable money at the moment) because of the PSU (and space). Overall, this will be great for medium/light duties. The Core i3 CPU model is a bit old now but it’s still fast. You honestly can’t go wrong for the money.

Warning: check the amount of RAM received
I received the unit just fine. Condition was very good and it was very clean inside. However, the unit had 2gb of RAM not the 8gb advertised.I contacted the seller and within a week they sent me two sticks of RAM. Despite telling them the unit should have 8gb, they sent me two more sticks of 2gb!As I want to use dual channel I can only use two sticks, giving me 4gb. I purchased a 2gb stick elsewhere to bring the amount up.The speed of RAM provided is 1333 when the original unit shipped with 1600.In the end I gave up with seller, who were nice to deal with and mistakes do happen, but the price I paid was so good (£65 approx) I decided to just move on.I bought the 250gb HDD option and put a £25 256gb SSD of my own in to the machine to run Linux, much better value that way.So check your RAM!

Avoid the product Dell as on off button seems a common problem
After having the computer for 5 months and only really using it for 2 as away from home working. It would not switch on. After 7 days of phoning I was informed by the technician that it needed a new motherboard with the symptoms I gave him. When I first phoned I was told to check the ram , I did but made no difference . I then phone them back a dozen times a day with no reply but an answering service . I did miss two calls from their technician but a minute later when I tried returning call no answer. They were terrible to try and contact by phone I was prepared with their help to fix the computer if I could but after 7 days when I was told it was the motherboard and after their pathetic response want a refund

No problems ...
Windows 10 PC works OK so far (purchased in Jan 2024). Don't use for gaming so couldn't give a star rating other than 3. The WiFi dongle connects to my broadband transmitter device OK with speeds of 44 Mb/sec download and 18 Mb/sec upload speeds. Quiet when running and does everything well. Can recommend.

A cheap way to a powerful PC
I was replacing an Optiplex 780 which was becoming slow as software demands increased, and lacked USB 3.0 ports for a backup hard disk. The 7010SFF has a power button at one end, which makes it easier to find than the tiny button on the 780, but you do have to think about where to locate it on your desk if you are using it as a tower, so that the DVD drive spindle faces you when open.I received a 7020SFF which is a more recent model and it had a Core I5-4790 3.3GHz CPU, which was noticeably faster to open programs and browsers than my old Optiplex 780 (Core Duo 2.93 GHz CPU). The I5-4700 series CPUs have AVX2 graphics capability, useful for video conferencing and video background options.I bought the computer from IT Buffs and the first unit they sent was a 390, but a replacement was quickly sent and a memory issue was also resolved promptly with some new memory modules. Full credit to them because the memory problem arose on Saturday 19th December, they responded to e-mails over the weekend and by 22nd December I had worked through the tests suggested by ITBuffs, identified a problem with two of the DIMM modules and they had dispatched the new memory. You do need to know a little bit about computer problems and upgrades if you are buying reconditioned as the step-by-step guide assumes you know rather more about how to set up a computer than the guide you would get if you pay for a new machine..but that will cost you a lot more! If you do need to open one up, Dell Optiplex PCs are very easy to work on as most of the major assemblies are "clip in", with clip on lids and drive unit frames.I've installed al lthe software I need at the moment and I'm very happy with the unit.
