I've used this type of tape in my job as HVAC mech and have come to depend on it for outdoor work. Even used it to insulate plier handles though you have to insure enough used for that.

Time and Money Saver
Stuff works great! Had some pin holes in a garden hose and thought I’d try it. Cut off a 10-12” strip, cleaned the hose well and tightly wrapped it pulling tight every time I wrapped it. Turned the hose on and no leaks!

I wish I knew about this product years ago. If you want to protect wires with a watertight seal, this is the stuff. It is absolutely wonderful.
