other reviews stated problems that don't exist inherently to the lock
this is a great schlage derivative, keyed from both sides, deadbolt.I rekeyed mine, and installed according to best practices. It functions flawlessly. I have other Schlage door locks, I can use the same key across all of them including this Dexter.The reviewer stated he had to leave the key in on one side, to unlock or lock the other side, has incorrectly installed the deadbolt.Other reviews stated that it was finicky, well if everything is not lined up correctly, you can induce some finickiness into any deadbolt.This was the least expensive option for a double cylinder deadbolt that was schlage compatible.I would buy it again.

Even a non-handyman as myself, was able to install this in good order.
Looks like an upgrade in durability, security from our old lock. Price was good.

not a good quality Schlage lock Could not rekey using Schlage rekey kit
Piece of ****. Got this and planned on rekeying but the kit that I have rekeyed many Schlage locks with would not work. These must be the cheapest locks they make. Tail piece holders are pressed on not held with a screw like a good Schlage. Could not even use any parts. Live and learn.

wrong info on the buying guide information from Amazon
Complaint is about Amazon's buying guide tips in the description which says ANSI grade 1 is basic and grade 3 is the highest. That is in fact opposite..... with Grade 3 being the lowest rating and grade 1 the best. . Of course found this out after installing 3 locks. The packaging does state they are grade 3 so can't fault Schlage, but I bought based on someone's (Amazon?) bad info. Thought I was buying the highest rated when in fact I was buying the lowest. Not happy.

Just what i needed!
I work as a Lock smith so I can get decent price on hardware. Even my Distributor could not get me this DB for the price i got it through amazon. Happy with it and worked well for the application i needed it
