this case fits absolutely fine and I encountered none of the issues identified in ...
This is a review for the older style case without the battery access flap as I was sent the wrong version; I will explain below why I decided to keep it.Fit: this case fits absolutely fine and I encountered none of the issues identified in other reviews. I have a JJC ALC-LX100 auto lens cap with a Hoya UV filter and the front part of the case slides on and off the lens smoothly. All main switches are accessible once the top part is removed; excellent.Handling: the LX100 is great to use and I wouldn't want a case to affect that more than absolutely necessary. It takes a few seconds to unclip the top cover and swing it away ready to use (if the camera is switched on simultaneously it takes about the same time for it to boot up); you can use the camera with the cover hanging from the bottom prestud but I can't imagine wanting to do that for long as it is awkward and it needs to be removed and stored for longer use. Without the top cover it handles really well, the curved grip feels good; no problems.Protection: there is padding on the inside base top and back panels, and the lens cover is extremely solid. It feels very secure and gives a lot more peace of mind for travel or day to day use; I used to keep my lx100 in a regular compact soft case which is fine for transporting it but awkward to carry when in use; this does the job really well.Style: personal choice but having a case similar to this on a 1960's Kodak Retinette 35mm camera it feels interesting to open this up and find LCD screen etc. To me it's a great retro look that suits the camera and this style of case probably attracts less attention to it which for me is a good thing. The strap supplied matches the leather finish and is at least as good as the original that comeswith the camera, although I may look for something more comfortable than either long term.Value for money: paid £19.99 which seems excellent for this quality and fit so happy to give it 5 stars on that basis.I wasn't sent the version I ordered which should have had a battery access flap, but decided to keep this on the basis that the bottom part of the case can be removed in a few seconds anyway. Also the flap and catch look a bit vulnerable to long term damage or accidental opening, and as I have found that the battery compartment itself is prone to accidental opening decided to keep what looks like the more robust version.Excellent addition to the camera; highly recommended.

A smart, robust case whcih fits the LX100 mk1 (mostly) well.
A very nice looking case for the LX100 mk1. Fits like a glove, allowing access to all the controls, except the switch that changes between focus modes, which the case renders inaccessible to the fingertips. This isn't a deal breaker for me, as I tend to focus manually with the aid of peaking, so leave this switch in the MF position all the time. If you move frequently between AF, AF (macro) and MF, you'll need to take the camera out of the case (which involved unscrewing it), or use some kind of probe.Well-made, with a soft inner and a tough outer. A little on the stiff side, it's not easy to use the camera if you leave the top part of the cover on - I think others have mentioned this - though this may get easier as the case "wears in". For the time being, when using the camera in the day, I take this bit off and leave it behind in the car, only putting it back on when the camera is in transit, or storage.

Good value but there is one design flaw
I like the retro look of this case. The leather isn’t premium grade but you wouldn’t expect that at this price. Stitching is good and overall it looks very attractive fitted to my Lumix LX100.It fits in place easily. The half case (the piece that covers the base) fits snugly and attaches securely by the threaded screw. However, the main problem I’ve found is that the front leather section fouls the AF/MF slider on the barrel of the lens. If you’re the sort of photographer who switches between AF and MF quite often, you’ll probably find you’ll end up removing the half case when using the camera. Another issue is that the front leather section also covers the contoured finger grip on the camera body. I’m not overly concerned by this as I can maintain a good grip one the camera with the half case fitted but this may not suit everyone. The half case also has a clip down access panel to the battery/memory card chamber which is useful. The piece which covers the top of the camera and the lens is quite a gappy fit but acceptable and offers good protection. You can not have this attached to the camera when taking photos because it obscures the lens. So, in my view the case looks good and provides good protection for carrying the camera around when not being used. But I think I’ll find the fouling of the AF/MF switch to be frustrating so would probably have to remove the case completely when I’m using the camera.

Its really nice, but not perfect
The materials are nice and it all feels like a really "good quality thing", I like it and I'm pleased I bought it. But only 4 stars as the design could be better, in short you really need to remove the front half of the case to be taking photographs and then its not attached. Its not very quick or convenient. Ideally it needs to be made so it "flaps" out the way, or if not then at least it should be connected with a nylon line or similar.

Good looks and protection, but a bit impractical.
Provides great protection for the camera and looks very impressive in a retro kind of way. However, the top needs to be detached in order to use the camera easily and it's too big to slip in most pockets.

A nice tough retro case for my LX100 and in keeping with the retro style of the camera. I especially like the access flap on the bottom for removing the battery and SD from the camera whilst in the case. It has started to scuff up already, but that is a part of its charm.

MegaGear LX100 case
Brilliant piece of kit - got the latest version with opening for changing battery/card. Far better than the manufacturer's version at a third of the cost - Top Marks!

Lovely case
Really professional, vintage looking case. Glad it came with a matching neck strap. The one thing that I can criticise is that the screw at the bottom of the case to secure it to the camera is quite small/tight, making it difficult to attach securely. But once it’s in it’s ok!
