Everything went smooth.
Very prompt delivery. It will be used to build the windmill by my son, who is going to technical school.

Needs a grommet, and a 3 phase rectifier.
We are thrilled to have this generator, and are planning to incorporate it in to a vertical wind turbine project that we are building. The overall construction looks rugged and robust. There has been some discussion about the hole that the wires emerge from, and I agree that there should be a grommet, or protective sleeve there. The machining on the shaft appears perfect. The finish is adequate as well. I did not order the optional mounting brackets because we can fabricate those ourselves, but that will be an added expense for others. Now for the wiring. I am surprised that no one (not even the manufacturer) mentioned the fact that there are 3 identical wires coming out of the generator. I have to conclude that this unit produces 3 phase AC power and will also require a 3 phase rectifier. It is very common for wind powered generators to produce AC current and after the power reaches the area where there is a load, or batteries, then it is converted to regulated DC current. Most rectifiers have 5 connections. Three are identical, and two are the regulated DC red(pos.) and black(neg.) output. The three identical connections can be hooked up in any order, to the three coming out of the generator. An American company called Missouri wind and solar has a wiring diagram that you can check out at their site. I believe that the 3 wires coming from the generator are adequate for the 100 watts of AC power that it produces, and that it should be rectified as close to the load as possible, such as inside the battery shed, etc. I rotated the shaft and found it to have very light cogging, so it should work very nicely for low wind conditions and slow start-up. This exact generator sells on other platforms at a much higher price, so by sourcing it through Amazon, it is very affordable. I’m rating this generator at 4 stars because of the unprotected hole, and lack of discussion about how to hook it up.

A few minor issues keep this from being great
This thing came packaged better than some tvs and computers I’ve ordered. Multiple layers of plastic wrap inside and out so there’s no worries if it gets wet on its way to you, that’s for sure. Looking it over, it looks really well made. The finish is really nice and the threads on the shaft are really well cut. The seam around the outside where the two halves come together has a rubber gasket so it should be nice and waterproof. It’s really well thought out in that regard. That said, there’s a few minor issues, though, that are really head scratchers since it’s overall so well made.First, the hole the three wires come out of look like it was drilled with a prison shiv. It’s uneven and really rough, and will definitely cut the wires if left that way. Plus, there’s no rubber gasket or silicone or anything, just the open hole with wires coming out. It’s an obvious place water will infiltrate so you’ll have to seal it up or you’re asking for trouble.Second, the wires are high quality, but they really should be a higher gauge since conceivably a fair amount of power will flow through them. They’ll work, but it’s just a source of inefficiency.Overall it’s a nice unit but could be a great one with a few corrections to these issues.

More information to American creators and inventors...
The actual generator motor is just under 6 inches in diameter. The bolts are almost exactly 5 1/2 inches opposite each other, 3 3/4 inches side by side. There are four, as seen in their image. The hole on the bottom is 1 1/2 inches and simple pipe would easily fit in there, even after being painted. Snug fit but doable. Height is roughly 4.75 - 5 inches from shaft to bottom 4 bolts sticking out. The tighter you screw down the bolt on the shaft the lower the height obviously.Delivery took much longer than expected (9 days) considering it's an Amazon Prime item at the time of this posting. I'm choosing to ignore this due to C19 and it doesn't play into my feedback or score. The wires are super cheap and thin gauge. This is my biggest complaint. That and I feel like they need to be sealed where they enter the housing. In China, where this is made, that is a stupid problem to have. It could have been easily rectified with a 10 cent rubber seal with 3 holes for the wires. The machining on the shaft is flawless. Great job on it. Typical machine grade thread. That paint job is pretty good. It could be better, but it's from China, so exactly what I expected.Mounting hardware to make a wind turbine is going to require research and money. Make sure you budget that into your invention. Changing metals is bad so stay with stainless.Because its intended purpose was to generate power I have to give this 3 stars. The wiring is complete crap and heats up due to being so cheap. Heat loss = energy loss. I wish there was a better source for buying generator motors.
