Solid and is stainless steel!
After researching and reading reviews, I finally settled on these and I was not disappointed! The sizes of each items and finish was as described and are stainless steel! They are not to heavy and best washed by hand (mostly to avoid scratches). Looks lovely as a dinner set and not cheap looking!

Good value but scratches
Looks great, lovely shine, great weight however after a couple of months use the cutlery handles have scratched very easily in cutlery drawer.
