If you're like me and don't have the luxury of a dishwasher, you know that washing dishes by hand is quite drying on your skin. I've tried wearing gloves, but I've never found any that fit me comfortably. They're either too tight in the palm, or the fingers of the gloves are way too long and get in the way.I eventually gave up on finding the perfect gloves and opted to use the "Soft Touch" dish soap from Palm Olive. It was more gentle and moisturizing than other dish soaps, but eventually the Soft Touch line was discontinued in it's entirety and I had to find something else. I decided to switch to Dawn Gentle Clean thinking my problems were solved, but then Dawn decided to change the formula to remove one of the moisturizing ingredients. It was still more gentle than most dish soaps, but nothing like it used to be.That's when I got the idea to add my own humectant to my dish soap. I opted for this one because it's known to be water soluble and would rinse away without leaving a greasy film. It's also very economical, costing just a few cents per ounce. You don't need to add a lot either. Just add a little bit to a funnel, let it drip into the bottle, shake it up and then you have your own "Soft Touch" dish soap!If you're worried your dish soap won't clean as effectively, I can tell you it cleans just as well so long as you don't add too much. I like to add this to the Great Value Soft & Smooth dish soap. It's basically the same as the Dawn Gentle Clean formula, it's just cheaper and offsets the cost of adding your own humectant.Also this jug is BIG! It will last you forever and is totally worth it.
