Great quality bamboo board. Much nicer than a plank with grids
The board is beautiful and solid bamboo. Very large with a quality feel. It's very portable but it looks nice enough for you to invest in a carrying case.The pieces are good enough. They're nicely shaped with a little weight but are ultimately plastic.The only downside is the pieces are covered in some kind of grease or polish so I would soak them in dishwasher soap before playing on the board. I put some pieces to try it out only to have oily smudges where the pieces landed.

Ancient game from China
I did a little research about this game and found out that this game in fact has a very long history which probably could be traced up to 4000 years ago. The theory of the game is based on Taoism, a Chinese ancient religion, which observes universe and everything as Ying and Yang(negative and positive). It has a deep relationship with Chinese ancient divination book: Yi-Jing. The game Itself was actually used in ancient time for spiritual practice. Every element of the game has spiritual meaning, including the color, the number of the pieces, lines, crossings, dots... of the game. I returned the game because of the complicated religious background of this game. No Christian should play this game.
