Excellent value for the money ๐๐๐๐๐
This luthiers set is a great value for the money. Yes, there are more expensive ones. And yes, you get what you pay for. Iโve worked on previous guitars and had a more expensive crowning file. With time files dull, and you learn tricks regarding working on guitar necks. It was time to purchase another file and I thought to try this one. I mean, $20.Hereโs my opinion on the luthier kit. *and a couple of pro-tipsMost importantly the crowning file works. Itโs coarser than more expensive files, though personally Iโd always sand after filing anyway. What I found useful is that you can wrap, say 2500, sandpaperaround the file in order to file and further smooth the edges etc.Donโt skimp on sand paper, spend the $10 per grading.Next, the metal tools designed to cover the woodwork and only leave the metal fret visible. Those function perfectly as well. I always use painters tape to cover the woodwork anyway. You should as well.To those just beginning and wanting to try.I donโt recommend that the first guitars that you work on are expensive or rare. That applies to even and using an expensive luthier kit.Thereโs an art to this and there are professional luthiers, hire one.If you can afford a Les Paul, you can afford to hire a professionalImportantly, completing the entire process properlywill take at least the entire afternoon or evening.Take your time, listen to my advice, and will be pleased with the results from this kit.Again, great value at $20 ๐๐๐๐๐

Great!
No. This does not include a fret rocker. The thing you see on the botton right is a picture-in-picture edit... a magnified view of the file edge. This is a great file at a great price. I would buy it again if needed.

Crowning file was just okay
The fret leveling gage has sharp edges. Crowning file was so so. Fret guards worked fine. Worth the price

Ok in a pinch.
Not actually a great file, tends to jump and catch. Teeth not very sharp and very aggressive for repairing frets in my opinion. If you ever intend to use it more then 1 time, get something better.

Works well
I bought this one because it had better reviews. I like it. Leaves fret pretty smooth and some polishing compound will finish it off

DO NOT buy this
This thing is horrible. It left deep scratches in my frets, doesn't actually crown the frets, and the teeth in the file wore down and were flattened after one use. Invest in a better tool if you don't want to ruin your frets.
