essays of a great thinker
This book brings together the major scientific essays written by Einstein. In addition, there are selected extracts from longer pieces of work. The contents consist of: 'The Principle of Relativity', 'Relativity, the Special and General theory', 'Sidelights on Relativity', 'Selections from the Meaning of Relativity', 'Selections from the Evolution of Physics', and 'Autobiographical Notes'. Finally, there are some selections from 'Out of My Later Years'.This book does contain maths - and it includes plenty of equations. I'd say that having 'A' levels (or equivalent) in mathematics and physics is a minimum requirement to adequately understand the ideas and arguments in this book. It's a well presented book. The only disappointment is the absurdly short - 2 and a half page - introduction by Stephen Hawking. To adequately introduce Einstein's essay requires a lengthy essay itself. For anyone interested in reading a great thinking, I recommend this book.

Einstein in his Own Words
It's exceptionally interesting to read Einstein's theories in his own words (though thankfully translated into English). The degree of mathematical sophistication which is required varies. Some chapters are more descriptive while others require some mathematical ability to be able to fully appreciate itheir meaning. The notes by Stephen Hawking help to describe the significance of the theories.

THE greatest book I have read about Einstein.
Read this if you like physics or maths. It is also good for you if you are not a professional in this subject, although professionals also find this very interesting.
