Works fast and great
I bought this not knowing what the result would be as this is my second item I purchased to try to fix the growing nitrite problem in my tank it said on package it would instantly reduce nitrite and nitrate level to a safe zone i was skeptical but hopeful i put 1 bag in each of my filters and waited for an hour i tested the water and my jaw hit the floor my water problem was over i strongly recommend if you are having a nitrite or nitrate problem

Very effective for Nitrite / Nitrate removal but bigger than you may need for smaller aquariums.
I bought this to supplement the filtration system on my 30-gallon octagonal freshwater fish tank, which uses an Aquaclear Model 50 filter/pump . That unit uses a bottom foam filter, then a carbon insert as a second layer in a mesh bag, and finally an ammonia remover in a third mesh bag on top. With that setup and 20 fish in my tank, I was getting elevated nitrite levels and I was getting nitrate buildup as well. After research I purchased this. The package contains one large fine-mesh bag of active ingrediant filter media. Unfortunately the bag is a bit too large to fit properly in my filter system along with the other media already in it without the risk of spillage. When I used it the very first time (with the contents still dry) it barely fit in the filter but did so and was very effective at taming the nitrite and nitrate back to acceptable levels (instructions say it also helps reduce ammonia). But the second time I used it after rejuvenating the contents (see below) the bag was wet and the contents had expanded to the point that the bag just simply would not fit in the filter, and it caused the filter to overflow and spill over the edge. It would be much more effective in my setup if I could divide the single bag into two smaller bags with equal amounts of active ingredients in each one. That way I could always insert a dry bag which would just fit as it got wet without causing water to overflow. I may attempt to do that by stitching down the middle with a sewing machine or maybe hand stitching, then cutting the original bag in two.. As an aside, this media is designed to be used for 5 days to a week, then remove it and soak it in a high-strength aquarium salt solution for several hours to rejuvenate it. Doing this can preserve the effectiveness of the media for several weeks; although they recommend replacing this product after two months. I rated this at 4 stars, not because of any lack of effectiveness of the product (outstanding based on my limited results) but because of the size issue. For a larger aquarium this would not be an issue.

Did the job
I had been struggling with brown algae unable to get it controlled. In an attempt to get it controlled, my nitrates and nitrites got out of control. This product took a while, I must’ve had it in my aquarium for about six days before it completely neutralized, my nitrates and nitrites. Would definitely use again.

The Dust it creates is Normal! This works!
So I used this once before and I rinsed it as best I could and when I put it in the tank there were still a lot of dust and it freaked me out and I took it out. I noticed that my nitrate levels were high in the fish tank so I gave it another try a couple months later with a new package although I rinsed it so much they were still dust but I had a trust it because I nitrate levels were so high. I’m glad I did because The dust did settle by the morning and I measured the nitrate levels two days later and everything was normal and my fish were all OK I took it out about a week later I know it might be scary but you have to trust it and it does work the dust will settle and maybe you take the dust out when you do another tank cleaning but this product really does work

No change in the nitrates.
Purposely got this to lower my nitrates for my over crowded tank. I’ve read reviews that in a couple of hours, it helped a lot. Not in my case. I waited even after 12 hours to the next day, I tested my water and still the same amount of nitrates. First time I got the package, it was ripped in the middle. So I had a replacement sent to me. Then the replacement that I got was fine but it was disappointing result. I don’t know if this is supposed to be placed only in canister filters, but I put this in the hang on back filter. It was pretty dirty after a week so I’m sure it was getting enough water movement. I was just super disappointed that it didn’t help with my nitrates. I guess the only way to reduce nitrates is to do water changes.

Nitra zorb pouch
It was to big for my filter I have a 30 gallon tank with 30 gallon filter and it doesn’t let the water flow through it easily not to porous but it did help clear the water

Zaps nitrate and ammonia levels!
I had a HUGE spike in nitrate and ammonia levels. No matter how many plants I added or 50% water changes I did, nitrate levels were over 250ppm.I put this stuff into my canister filter and tested the water 24 hours after. Nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia levels are 0 ppm and consistent. 💪 I love it.
