Fits right in with our wooden tracks from thomas and brio sets and goes great on the train table. Its a rather hefty piece but was able to fit it on well. The crane has a strong magnet and the tunnel is nice and wide. I only wish the tunnel was a bit taller to allow my larger trains to pass through without needing to lift the entire thing up. Overall it was quite easy to put together and fun to play with.

This crane adds lots of color to your layout and allows creativity if you're planning to use the bottom part as a viaduct for your trains (more on that later).Yes, the ramps are plastic instead of wood, and they do stand out color-wise, but plastic was the easiest way to add traction (by small indents inside the grooves) to make sure those loaded electric engines can get to the top of the hill (instead of helplessly spinning their wheels while the cars behind them hold them back).The crane moves loads in and out of cars easily and the pulley is easy to operate, even for toddlers. The lower height of the crane means a shorter string to deal with and faster to operate.As for the viaduct option, keep in mind not all engines and cars will fit when you add the height of the track, and I had several wooden engines (see green engine pictured) that didn't make the cut and some cars too (blue passenger car in picture rubbed).This is well worth the price and much easier to implement than those stand-alone cranes that were included with some wooden track train tables.

I ordered this set for my nephew who loves his Thomas and Friends trainset and is always happy with any extra pieces he gets. This is a nice set. It fits with the rest of the pieces and the train just fine. It is nicely made and sturdy. I wish the track pieces were wood too, but they fit with the wood pieces he has already, so they are fine. He has already found several different ways to add this piece to his gigantic "island" and has definitely gotten many hours of play with it. I would recommend it.
