I use this almost every single day. This is an amazing product!
My friend and I own a fitness boot camp; that's what I do for a living. Administering fitness assessments and doing measurements on our clients is an important part of what I do. Using regular measuring tape just sucks because it can be difficult to keep in place and you have to fold it back up when you're done with it. This tape quickly retracts simply by pressing the red button. It's light and it has a small footprint in my bag. The tape itself is extremely high quality; you can tell by its thickness and the way it feels. The mechanism that clicks to keep it from retracting on its own is high quality and has never failed me is over a year of very heavy use. Believe me when I tell you that the German craftsmanship is clearly evident in this well-made product. This awesome product does, however, have a weak point. The blue clasp that holds the tape in place while you're doing your measuring broke off after a year of heavy use. It may have broken after a year of daily use but who cares? This product is so awesome that I bought 2 more and I will always buy this product for doing body measurements because this is the BEST product out there for this task.I even tried using the MyoTape Body Tape Measure product after my first Dritz Wrap'n Stay broke but it's not nearly as good as the Dritz for taking people's body measurements. The MyoTape's clasp would constantly pop off when I was measuring people's hips - how embarrassing! I just can't understand why that product has so many reviews when this is a far superior product in every single way? It has a smaller footprint than the MyoTape. The tape itself is much higher quality and once clasped, the tape actually stays in place unlike the MyoTape. The clicking mechanism is even quieter than the MyoTape.I would gladly pay twice the price for the Dritz Wrap'n Stay because this is a product I literally depend on every single day. I don't buy crap products when it comes to our business and I am confident that if you're a fitness trainer or a tailor you will undoubtedly enjoy and depend on this German gem of a product as much as I do.It works, it stays put when you're measuring folks and it's awesome. Buy it now!

A tape measure that measures.
There really isn't much I can say. It's a fabric tape measure that measures waists, chests, arms, legs, and works for my dog's chest and length too. It retracts into the body for easy storage. It doesn't seem like it will stretch easily so shouldn't lose much accuracy in use.

interesting design
This tape measure is a good price for the quality--it is German-made. I really like the cm and inch readings being on the same side of the tape! (both measurements, on both sides) It may make for more difficult reading if you prefer large print. The tape has a soft feel and is flexible. It only locks about every 3 inches, but that is fine for my purposes as a sewist (mostly of clothing for myself & my children). You can use it as a circular tape, but when the end is locked in place, it uses the metal tape end as a stopper, so you'll have to remember to subtract 1 inch from your measurement. Still, the tape doesn't easily slip out of place when in this mode, which is nice. The case is ergonomically shaped. I expect to have good durability from an item made in Germany. Time will tell!

Positive for Lead
I bought the Dritz blue Wrap n Stay in 2018. I used it all the time, it works very well for body measurements.I believed it to be safe as it is made in Germany and manufactured recently. (This is actually a Hoechstmass measuring tape, it is engraved on the metal tip.) I heard about lead in measuring tapes but hoped this one would be safe since it was so useful.Recently I purchased 3M Lead check swabs and tested the tape. Immediate pink! This means significant lead on the surface of the tape. I would never have bought it had I known. Please choose a different measuring tape! And if there is any doubt you can test any vinyl tapes with 3M swabs (can stretch these to test multiple items with qtips). This only gives a rough idea, but it’s easy to identify the most severe offenders with the bright red or pink results. And please do not let children play with or use leaded measuring tapes!

Most helpful review
So I bought this to measure my arm circumference, which is a pretty alpha male/douche thing to do. It is what is. I read other reviews of competitor body measurers that plastic pieces were breaking off and such so I splurged and bought this one that has a metal end.I would say for what it is, it's pretty well crafted. It has "Germany int patent pend" printed on it... Does that mean it wasn't made in China? I'm not sure.May I also add how disturbed I was by reviews of the other tape measures calling for quality control because their tape started at 1inch instead of zero... Get a clue please. (Since it starts on one of measurer and wraps around to the other end it has to take into account the length of the plasticy thing)This is the longest review I have ever left. And I'm leaving it on obscure item so it may or may not ever be read again. So I just got home from the gym and arm circ is at 17 5/8 inch so I'm in a good place.Buy this product. I have nothing to disclose. I paid for this product like you will. In 3...2...1...Oh and for the warning... So I have had this for 2 days now. I don't have cancer yet, that I know of. Anyways I googled/Wikipedia it, apparently it's for a law in California that has list of chemical that may or may not cause cancer. The list add/drops things frequently according to wiki aaaand there's no law that says you can't put that warning on if it doesn't contain the chemical.... (And even Disney land has that warning. I have never been to Disney Land... I'm a Floridian we have Disney world.) And mostly people post this Bc they don't want to be sued in California...so maybe if you are a Californian you are not even phased by the warning.I will be going to California ina few weeks so if I see the ubiquitous warning I will let my audience know. Please stay tuned.
