It took a while to get them but they worked out

Two of the microSD cards failed after 3 months. The other three still work fine. Trying to figure out how to get two replacements. Will buy a different brand next time if I can't get replacements... though they are supposed to have a 2-year warranty.

Inexpensive but not 128 GB. If that doesn't matter to you, they do work.

Whenever I buy storage products the first thing I do is plug it into my computer to test it and make sure it's what it claims to be and that there no issues. These cards come formatted in xfat which is about the newest format available if you've got an older device it may not be able to handle xfat. This is no problem just format them as fat32 or windows ntfs both will handle a 128 gig capacity card. The cards come with an SD card adapter, many laptops have a slot on the side to take SD cards. You can buy a device at office depot or staples that looks like a usb stick but has a slot for transflash cards. In fact that gives you another way to use these cards as well since you can just leave a card in the device and move files on and off it that way if you don't have a memory stick with you. These cards are tiny for how much they hold and because they are tiny you do have to be a little careful with them. Don't flex them and be sure to keep the contact on the bottom of the card protected from scratches and scuffs. For under ten dollars you can get a plastic case to hold and protect your library of cards, I would suggest you do that right away especially if you have multiple cards and they aren't always installed in a device. Patriot also makes computer ram so they are a name company like sandisk, samsung etc. I have used their storage devices a few times with no issues and don't expect any here either. Take each one from the package, plug it into your desktop and format it, if there are errors the card is bad that's why I always check I bought a pack of five no issues. The price of these is low for sure and I'm certain other products are probably faster but security cameras don't need a really fast card these will do for what I bought them for.

The Patriot 128GB cards are giving me write speeds of 60MB/s, which is significantly better than I get with a Samsung Evo card or even a Sandisk Extreme. They would be great for 4k video recording. Random read speeds are not quite as good, but definitely not bad: I get about 6MB/s on the Patriot while I get up to 9MB/s on the Samsung Evo, but the Samsung is an A2 card. I haven't tested it much in real-world conditions but the CrystalDiskMark stats seem solid. Overall I think this the 5-pack is a great value.
