Really absorbent and luxurious brush
I absolutely love the princeton brand and this brush is another one to add to my watercolour collection. The brush have soft bristles that hold the water well and the quill shape is so versatile. From large washes to fine lines i've enjoyed using this brush very much. It holds a lot of colour and releases it in a controlled and even way. The quill shape is new to me and i wish i'd purchased this one a long time ago! I'm not a very skilled artist but i've painted a nice landscape without changing brushes at all! I will be purchasing a few more sizes and i'd recommend it to anyone.

A 5 star brush.
Good brush quality that holds its shape retention and no stray hairs or hair loss. The size is ideal for mini paintings or details in a larger painting. It has all the functionality that I would expect from a brush of this size and is my go to brush when painting small. Excellent value for money and I would recommend. A full 5 stars without hesitation.

Surprisingly soft
I never had a Princeton brush before so I didn't know what to expect. It came with a plastic transparent protective bristle cap in a long narrow zip bag. The wooden body is slightly fatter and longer than a typical paintbrush, but feels good in my hand. After washing off the protective dried gel on the bristles, it felt soooooooo soft, almost luxurious, when I made a long stroke. Longer I use it in a session, softer it becomes, but never to the point where it's difficult to control it. Holds enough water to last a line across an A4 paper sheet. So far it's keeping its shape well whether wet or dry.The only possible con: it's soft enough to make me suspect that those into precision, straight lines or tiny details may struggle with it a bit I think it's possible to do those after some practice, but all in all,. I think it may be more suited to those into long loose/soft strokes, small-area washes, large flowers/plants or urban sketching. I'm liking it so far, which makes it a good buy in my books. For comparison's sake, I've uploaded a photo of four paintbrushes (from top to bottom):- Princeton Neptune 6- Van Gogh 191 Selected Filament 6 (Neptune is a little softer than this)- Artway 6 (Neptune is much softer than this)- Silver Brush Velvet 3000s 4 (Neptune is a tiny bit stiffer than this)And a quick sketch in watercolour (Paul Rubens 12), which I did with the Princeton Neptune brush 6.

These are so good Godzilla bottled it when a 70ft nautical godlike synthetic squirrel came to town
This is what happens when you put 500 squirrels in a room and teach them chemical synthesis, the boffins at Princeton are mopping up with these brushes, introducing fully synthetic squirrels which live carefree squirrely lives and donate their hair cuttings after a visit to the salon so we, the very lucky people we are, get to swish swash away to our hearts content - environmentally and mammal hugging brushy goodness on a stick, with a nice shiny ferrule to boot . These puppies are thirsty - wowsers, nice belly you have there my friend and pointy too, you really are waffly versatile aren't you. Remember folks, these Neptune lot are hippies, they like to flop and flip, aint no spring here, they didn't go through all that science and sentient synthetic squirrel evolution just to have a spring, slurp, flop, repeat. Easy to clean because, well, ummm, they are kinda manic dunkers and spend most of their time half piking into their water tubs (yes, plural, 2 bucket method folks), they love it they do.Very reasonably priced for a squirrel and a good size. If you are friends with real life squirrels, they're a perfect size and thickness for a quick game of rounders and can handle batting nuts all day, long +1 to durability. You should buy one immediately, your pigments will gossip - oh this one brushes, smirks raw sepia, activating as the dashing neptune stick prepares to sing. Me next! me next! cries yellow ochre, oh hush now ochre, hush.

Good brush
Good quality brush, however I don’t use it as much as I thought I would as the hairs as very floppy, I prefer brushes with a snap to them.
