Do not buy these bats.
Like many others, I was very excited to try these bats. Unfortunately for me, I bought them before they reviewed them. The first time I used them, because I placed my left hand directly on the bat to center the clay for all of my pieces, the rough texture not only hurt but ended up burning my hand and took off some skin. The smart thing would have been to stop but I had a deadline to meet and didn’t realize the damage that was being done to my hand. I came up with a plan to alleviate that issue the next time but it turned out that I didn’t need to because the bat doesn’t stay on the bat pins so it is useless after one use. Do not invest your money into these bats. There are so many other options to choose from that may be a little more expensive but they will not hurt your hand, wobble, will attach to the bat pins as expected and basically do the job they are meant to do.

Difficult to place on pins.
I find these extremely difficult to place on the head pins. The plastic doesn't give and the edges of the recesses have smashed plastic being forced inside by the head of the pin. I used a fret knife to scape the shavings away. Perhaps a rounded, ball headed pin would be a better design?I like the idea of these bats...but the application in real life use is not ideal when it comes to fixing it to the wheel. Having that initial frustration is irritating.Do better!

Too rough - caused hand injury
First time I used one of these, which looked great, I got a horrible rug burn (brush burn? Friction burn?)The surface is a little rough and hard enough to cause me injury that wood bats, other plastic bats and even just the bare aluminum wheel never did.

Good Idea, Needs Tweaks
If I'm being honest, I like the idea of these more than I like actually using them.I love the colors (so pretty) and the radiating measurements through the batt. These were the features that sold me.Performance wise, these bats slide a lot on my wheel head. They do not cling to the batt pins the way my Speedball batts do. To keep them from sliding I have to place a lot of clay between the wheel head and the batt - I hate wasting clay. The wet chamois method does not work due to the deep and wide honeycomb structure on the underside, preventing a wet seal.Additionally, after cutting off a piece you can't lift it immediately off the bat to place onto your wareboard. I'm not sure why, except that the plastic is quite slick, creating a firm seal to the batt.I hope Pottery Head reads reviews! If so, this batt needs some tweaks.

So far so good
I have used these for three or four throwing sessions at my community studio and while they are a bit difficult to pop into the bat pins (which I imagine will get easier with use and wear) I have not experienced any of the negative issues others report. Will update if needed, but for now definitely a good purchase.

Really wanted to love these.
First, they are not universal fit. The pin holes are located at 9 and 10 inches. Does not not fit asian pin spacing. I literally drilled and tapped my wheel head to accommodate these and was ultimately disappointed...Second, even the ones that were not used are not flat. I feel like the hexagon structure allows too much flex. A concentric circle or spider web might be more stable. I don't even want to dry pieces on these.Third, it's very hard to tap center because of the textured surface. If these were redesigned, I would consider buying again.
