Alright, let’s dive into the saga of the 55 Gallon Drum Pump. This contraption works pretty good for the most part, but like any epic tale, it has its twists and turns.First off, this pump is a real workhorse. It’ll move your oil faster than a rumor in a small town, thanks to its 6 GPM hand pump. But, as with all heroes, it has a weakness: the pipe submerged in the pumping media barrel. It's as thin as a supermodel on a juice cleanse, and if you leave it submerged for too long, it could corrode or dissolve. Yep, aluminum does oxidize. Who knew?Now, I’m no metallurgist, but I do know that a pipe turning into aluminum-flavored confetti is not ideal. So, if you’re planning to let this baby marinate in oil for extended periods, be prepared for some periodic pipe inspections.All that being said, when it's not busy pondering its existential oxidation dilemma, this pump does a solid job. The hand crank operates smoothly, and the all-aluminum construction (aside from our thin friend) feels sturdy enough to withstand the occasional bump and bang in the workshop.So, if you’re willing to keep an eye on that submerged pipe and don’t mind a bit of maintenance, this pump will serve you well. Just remember, even superheroes have their kryptonite.

Strainer filter was not in the package.

The pump works as it should, it pumps oil from a big container into a small container. The pump sections are all aluminum and feel very lightweight. My big complaint is that the section of hose that is included is kind of corrugated and holds a lot of oil in the line, it is also made of thin plastic that will easily crack over time. I removed mine almost immediately.

This pump works pretty good for the most part, but...The bottom of the pipe that goes into the drum is just an end of a pipe... I had to cut some slits into the bottom so that I could bottom out the pipe in the drum and allow it to still pull oil off the bottom.The flexible hose that came with it was very hard to not crush when I was trying to get it onto the pump because it's so thin.And speaking of thin... The pipe that goes into the drum is in three sections and the metal is very thin.Hopefully it lasts as long as the old one did because It's very inconvenient when a pump breaks and you need to get oil out of the drum.

I used the pump to pump Def out of a 50 gallon drum it was ok the 3rd time but the 4th it spong a leak is good but the seals have to be made out of a better material

I don't use this very often at all but the handful of times that I have, it has worked fine. The handle and crank move smoothly and it is definitely better than my old pump.
