So far, 5 star.
Only had this for a few days, but it's really impressed me so far. Instead of using a flap disc and knocking your work out of square, use the side sanding disc with the mitre gauge for an honest straight edge, or use the belt for when you don't have to be as accurate or sharpening. As this is basically the only budget option for a belt grinder for metal, I bought this, and I'm not disappointed. Built sturdy, looks good in matt black and easy to use.

Metal Muncher
Assembly is fairly straightforward, which is good because the instructions are ‘concise’.The machine itself runs fairly quietly, given the power of the machine. Belt tracking is very good.I bought this to finish a knife project; as an upgrade on the generic belt driven belt sander/disc sander combo form the likes of Axminster, Silverline, Machinemart etc.Pros- This grinder has some serious power. It will hog off some serious steel without showing any sign of slowing down. It’s designed for working with metal and is not a wood sander so bear that in mind. With the platen extension fitted it does give you a usable are to grind plunges and work on bolster areas. You can sand wood (it performs brilliantly on Micarta) but it does generate a serious amount of dust, purely because of the amount of material it removes, and quickly.Cons- I wish it had some sort of speed control. I know this would add a lot to the price but this machine has a lot of power and it’s either all on or not at all. For the price I can’t really fault it though.Value for money- A serious machine tool that will turn big pieces of steel, brass etc into much smaller pieces very quickly! Give it some respect otherwise you will be losing layers of skin very quickly 😉

Powerful Sander
In 30 years of having a home work shop, this is the seventh belt/disc sander I've had and it's by far the most powerful and the first one that I haven't been able to significantly slow down when sanding wider material. I do a lot of different stuff from making knives to bandsaw boxes and small items of furniture so my sander is probably my most used machine. This one is the best I've found in this sort of price range. Bucktool is not a brand I'm familiar with but they've obviously given a bit of thought into the design of this sander with knife making in mind. The ability to get a plunge line using a 4" belt means you can grind bevels a lot faster than a 2" grinder and the power allows you to grind and shape a knife blade very quickly. The solid iron work table for the belt is excellent and holds firmly in use, allowing good accuracy when bevel grinding. The belt tracking can be a bit of a pain to get just right for the plunge lines if you're grinding on the left side as well as the right but I've had decent results doing edge up and edge down grinds. Having a larger 8" disc instead of the more usual 6" is a major plus allowing fast removal of material. All in, a very impressive belt/disc sander/grinder for the price.

Good quality
Bench belt sanderA bench belt sander for metalworking. This is a nice design, weighty, not overly sized. It seems durable and well made. The belt sander has a belt size of 100x914mm, with a speed of 552 m/min. The belt can be placed vertically or horizontally, there is also a cast iron backstop on it. The disc sander has a 200mm disc size, which runs at a speed of 2980RPM. The work table, which is made of cast aluminum, is adjustable by 45° and comes with a miter gauge. My step dad is the one who tested this out for me while I watched. Overall, he was quite impressed, he's only ever worked with larger self standing ones so didn't know what to expect with a bench type one. He said it works quite well, better than he expected. The quick change lever works well, the dust port does it's job, it obviously has a bit of noise to it which is expected but if you know what you're doing, it's not too hard to use.I would recommend it.

Good quality sander at an affordable price
The item came very well packed to avoid any damage during the transit. The build quality is great and it is very sturdy. You can easily adjust the height at which the table can be mounted as there are 3 pairs of threaded holes on the side of the arm.The table for the disc side is aluminium. Also, the motor is heavy duty, which makes sanding quite smooth. It comes with a miter gauge that is pretty solid, and has angle gauges on both sides of the table. The machine is very powerful and I did not feel any wobble even when the machine was not bolted to the table top.I would suggest that manufacturer replaces the plastic guards with metal, as it is not a good idea to have plastic guard near the grinding metal. I replaced these plastic guards with metal guards which I already had.Just like any other sander device, it is noisy. Only time will tell if this will work for long time, but for now, I do not have any complaints. Also, for the price which you pay £209 at the time of review, it is a good bargain.Hope you find this review helpful.

Awesome for its size
The sander I like. Would be nice if it were variable speed, but for the price it's not bad. It's relatively quiet. That's important for me since I live in an apt. Hope it works for a long time. For the money I think it's worth it. Performance is satisfactory. Gets the job done. Easy to use. The sanding belt is a little difficult to change but most of the time I'm in no hurry. It's compact enough. Overall I'm happy with the product.
