Hydrating Serum, But I'm Unsure Which Ingredient Caused that Effect
While rubbing the serum between my fingers, I noticed it slightly foamed, and also produced small strands when I pulled my hands apart. It easily applied to my skin and dried within seconds, without leaving any residue - and almost left a matte appearance to my skin. This serum was indeed hydrating, but I'm unsure which ingredient caused that effect. The main active ingredient, malus domestica fruit cell culture, is listed as the seventh ingredient - but the product description states "Plant Stem Cell and Salmon DNA serum, which has a high concentration with its intense content..." Glycerin is listed as the second ingredient, and hyaluronic acid is the sixth.I would've liked this formula to place the plant stem cell salmon DNA at a higher concentration, so that I could isolate how it works on my skin in comparison to serums which didn't contain this ingredient at all. Because while the serum did perform as it indicated it would? I'm unsure if it would've done so without the inclusion of the star ingredient.

Not my favorite.
This is not my favorite. It’s hydrating but I don’t ever see any improvement in my skin when I use it. I’m not sure about the ingredients, they aren’t doing much for me especially for the price of this expensive serum.

Deep Hydration & Skin Feels Firmer!
This moisturizer is so hydrating! It makes my skin feel soft, smooth, and more youthful. After a few weeks of use, I’ve noticed a nice plumping effect and fewer fine lines. Plus, it smells great and isn’t too heavy!

Shoddy science that lacks transparency
First of all, I am pretty sure anyone can guess what the salmon DNA is actually derived from. The DNA is actually from male salmon...gametes. It is one of the latest Korean beauty trends that supposedly helps with cell migration and blemishes, which may help with complexion. One of the claims made is that salmon DNA is similar to human DNA, making it "compatible" with cellular functioning. However, I disagree because the immune system is known to respond to foreign DNA. People that need grafts from donors constantly need to suppress the immune system from responding to the graft, even though the graft came from another human. Therefore I do not agree with the concept that salmon DNA is somehow "compatible" with human DNA. For DNA in humans to work, it needs to go inside the nucleus and start being transcribed. The top layer of your skin is composed of non-living cells, and DNA is too big of a molecule to penetrate into a cell all by its lonesome. Therefore, all this will really do is sit on your face and do nothing. You get the same benefits from lotion. The other problem is the plant stem cells. People will read "stem cells" and immediately get excited because stem cells are cellular progenitors that renew adult tissue like skin. But these are stem cells from PLANTS. For stem cells to actually be regenerative, they need to be alive, have human DNA, and be inside your body to help renew your own cells. If they are from plants, they neither contain your DNA nor cellular compatibility to actually do anything, especially if they are in a serum vial meaning they are not living cells anyways. This will also sit on your face and do nothing. You would potentially get better benefits from plant extracts. When I put this on my face, I see no difference from my other serums which basically means my skin is just more moisturized and nothing else. The science behind this is all hubris, and the words "stem cells" and "DNA" are meant to excite people that do not understand how genetics and epigenetics work.

A Moisturizing Serum, but Results May Vary
I'm not an expert on salmon DNA, so I can't speak to the scientific claims behind it. However, I did find that this serum absorbed well into my skin and provided a noticeable moisturizing effect, which could be due to the glycerin it contains. As for the anti-aging benefits, it's hard to say how effective the salmon DNA really is. Skincare results take time, and what works for one person might not work for another. If you're open to experimenting with different formulations, this serum might be worth trying. It didn’t cause any issues for me, and the lightweight, absorbent texture is a plus.
