Brings back great memories.
My husband has been looking for Neccos for a whole. Shocked to find on Amazon. Best Christmas present I could give him. Minus 1 star because a bit expensive.

Since 1847
My grandfather introduced me to this candy when I was very young, i.e a long time ago. I had forgotten about it until I heard an interview online with an ex-CIA operative who mentioned in passing that he was an avid collector of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia and that one day he was in a "museum of kitsch" in Baltimore I think where he saw a display of the last stool of Mr Lincoln deposited in a chamberpot before he entered his box at the theatre and was assassinated. It had a desiccated grain of rice imbedded in it that supported its credibility as Lincoln's last meal was chicken and rice. Anyway, a short time later, the CIA agent read in the newspaper that the museum was closing and would be auctioning off its exhibits. The agent attended the auction and bid on the item but did not win. He would only go as high as $1200. The winning bid was $5000. He felt vindicated later when he learned that the purchaser had sent out the sample for testing, and the report said that it contained bits of Necco Wafer. The agent was greatly amused by this, saying the stool was a fake because Necco Wafers were not produced until the 1880s. But he was wrong. The wrappers say "Since 1847" and Wikipedia reports that Union soldiers in the Civil War carried them.Anyway, to get back to the review. The wafers arrived in great condition, were very fresh and reasonably priced. They tasted better than I remembered. Unfortunately, they contain a genetically-modified ingredient (probably the corn starch) and some dyes that have very recently been banned in the US. I expect they will reformulate the recipe to eliminate the dyes. It would be good, too, if they could avoid GMO products in the future.
