Great package. No problem with it!

This product contains ASBESTOS, which causes MESOTHELIOMA, a form of CANCER!!!The fact that it contains ASBESTOS is not disclosed in the product description AT ALL WHATSOEVER!!!I found the ASBESTOS product listing on the back of the "Manual of distillation unit" pamphlet included with the product after assembling the product and exposing myself to ASBESTOS!!!

All of the parts were intact and packaged well IMO. I did not have a single broken piece....and if I had it would not have effected my review score because I know crap happens and I would try to contact the company for replacement parts before giving a low score here...I don't think those reviews are reasonable. Instead here are some legit complaints:This set was disappointing because it uses plastic corks to connect and it slips frequently. I couldn't see this holding up under any real pressure.....these are not standard connections for this sort of setup, they typically fit in glass to class with plastic clamps that hold the parts together. In fact, I just bought an entirely different setup because this can't even do essential oils as advertised. You have *most* of what you need, but you need another chamber above to do essential oils properly on a steam setup.You have *most* of what you need to separate ethanol for distilling....but you will need a better heat source as it is impossible to get that 78C consistent with the fire burning apparatus they send you with....PLUS you really don't want an open flame when dealing with vapors.....So, that is why this is pretty much useless as it is. If you want to do distillation then get you a proper heating source like labs have, you can find one for around 30-40 bucks on Amazon. If you want to do essential oils you will need at the very least another chamber, the adapter connection (around 40-60 dollars total) AND adapter seals (10 bucks) to compensate for the non-uniform size of the openings in this set.So my advice is spend an extra 20-30 bucks on a proper setup. Go for one with the additional chamber above and an electronic heat source...and make sure it is a glass on glass transition with the plastic clips that clamp the pieces together. It's what is used in labs, it's what works best.IF you know what you are doing AND you just want to use this to teach kids some science stuff, then it's a great deal. If you want to use it for what it is advertised as for distillation or essential oils then good luck.

Really happy with this purchase. Nothing was broken upon arrival and everything was included as pictured. The only negative thing I can say about it is that the rubber stoppers/sealers that seal the pieces together have already spit after a few distillation sessions. I lose the distillate because of this and I am not sure if I can order new stoppers. Instead of buying this set, I recommend getting a set that is hatched and uses grease to seal the different components together; not rubber sealers like this set.

The product is nice for 99$ distillation apparatus. I do have one major note and that is not to use the asbestos mesh. Asbestos is a safety hazard and this should be double bagged and disposed of according to RCRA guidelines. You do not want this in your house never mind under a flame. You can replace this with a simple wire mesh to distribute the heat.

Its a great size set up for my space. The Pear shaped separation funnel was broke. Came with no paper information at all. No supply list or set up instructions.

Just like I said one if the beakers broken and pieces fell out of protective wrap as I opened it up. And neither stopper is worth a darn one cracked as I was installing and the other one doesn’t seal the center glass. Other than it was sold with the cheapest parts they could find and zero instructions lol one decent picture.I think it might distill something that boils off at 120 degrees Fahrenheit just fine but 212 for water no way. Definitely not going to try any wash in it at 170 and waste alcohol.
