Our young kitty loves this scratch pad and runs to it first thing each morning. We sprinkled some catnip on it to introduce it, and he took to it right away. Well-made and very functional.

My kitten likes it however, the fact that the tape is not sticking when you fold it over it’s not sticking to that so I have to keep pushing it down and securing it, but the kitten loves going on it around it under it

A little hard to put together or I’m just stupid but it looks great

I began buying the cardboard cat scratchers for my Bengal cat roughly one year ago. She has vertical sisal scratchers in our living room but I wanted something to put out in our sunroom for her. She really liked the cardboard ones but I was starting to get tired of having to vacuum every other day because the little cardboard bits that came off of it. So I thought getting her this one would be a good idea-it cost more but I thought it wouldn’t be messy and I probably wouldn’t have to replace it as often as the cardboard ones. So far she seems ok with it. I think the mat material isn’t as easy for her to claw as the cardboard one was-but she seems to like the bigger size and I positioned it against our sofa-so she has a mini ramp up to her seat on the couch now. Our cat is elderly and a little over weight-so getting her furniture that is designed close to the floor is the main thing I consider now. I will probably order her a new cardboard floor scratcher because this one isn’t quite living up to it. It does look a lot nicer and I love the size and sturdiness of it though.

It has taken awhile for our cats to use it, now they love it.

This is a very sturdy and well made cat scratcher but my kittens didn't really warm up to it. I think it needs to be roughed up a bit (it is very smooth compared to cardboard) so I have scratched on it lightly with a fork. It is now our backup scratcher.

cats love it！easy to put together

This cat scratcher does require some assembly to put together, but it's not very difficult to do and doesn't take very long. I was able to put it together in about 20 minute or so. The kit includes a small screwdriver, which is all you'll need, though a slightly larger/nicer screwdriver may help. The assembly process basically works out to inserting a few screws, then applying velcro tape on the assembled frame and the sisal mat and using that to stick the two together. It would be nice if the mat was a couple of inches longer, as the length is pretty much the exact minimum needed if you stretch it tight, but it does work.My cats, however, haven't been a big fan of this cat scratcher, at least so far. They seem to prefer cardboard. I'm not going to hold that against this scratcher, though, as I think that's just the preference of my cats: there's plenty of cats that prefer sisal over cardboard. If your cat prefers cardboard, this probably won't change their mind, but otherwise this is a pretty decent quality scratcher.
